Eagle watching!

Well I told everyone I had something else to share after our busy day at Robotics and lunch! We hit a few little known spots on the river in hopes to catch a glimpse of the most impressive bird in the sky "The Bald Eagle".

This time of year the Bald Eagle is migrating through the Midwest. Most lock and dams in my area and north into Iowa have an event called "Eagle Days". These are hosted generally by the MDC (Missouri Department of Conservation) and the USACE (US Army Corps of Engineers).
You can Eagle watch and take a guided tour over the lock and dam. This is not for the faint of heart because the water roaring through the lock is so loud. You constantly feel like your getting misted and the terrain is pretty treacherous with ladders and narrow walk ways. Not to mention how cold it is with the wind blowing in your face from the frigid waters and ice!

Seeing the speed and precision of these huge birds taking off from their perch high in a tree to soaring over the river and diving for a scrumptious fish with huge talons and extreme accuracy.

Then Just as fast as it left its perch and soared to catch its meal it will return. It was neat seeing how alert they are as they devour their meal. I don't know how any other animal or bird could ever sneak up on it to steal its freshly caught dinner as it has its head always on the swivel watching!

We also were luck enough to catch several Eagles perching high up in a tree. These guys were not quite as active and a couple of the others but still an amazing site to see!

I wish you all could have lived this with us because it was so amazing. I will say if there is truly an after life and if I had a choice I will want to come back as one of these creatures. They soar so high and you can just see freedom and its like they just know they rule the sky. You just know from way up in that blue sky they can see for miles and miles and man that would be a dream come true!

As we wrap up the weekend adventures I can't wait to fill everyone in on the new ones to come. We sure hope you enjoy the pictures we were able to snap and even more so the ability to share them with you all. Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Is that Clarksville, Mo.? I grew up about 15 miles south of there in the little town of Elsberry.

We didn't make it to Clarksville which is where we wanted to go. We stopped of Salt River Road and Hwy C first. Then we went to Eagles Landing in Winfield off 79. We live between Winfield and Troy so we stayed close.

We go to all the car shows at Cadillac Bill's in Elsberry lol.

Such an amazing sight to see of the bald eagle especially up close. 😎 🦅

Its that time of year here, as well, in Washington. The skagit river has an American Bald Eagle tour for spotting the eagles as rhe nest, soaring in the upper winds.

On my computer I have some photos of eagles sitting on a telephone pole...

Such a majestic animal.

Couldn't agree more.
