Is Less More? Or do I need to Change My mindset?

So. i've just come on here for the day and read through some blog posts. The first one I read got me really excited, written by someone who made 1 sale and got $2000+ in commissions and it got me thinking. Of course, If you can achieve a bigger income with one sale then that's fabulous but surely big sales like that are infrequent because not every day can someone afford to spend $2000+


To my mind, I'm thinking it's better to sell items that people will consider purchasing on a dayly basis so therefore there is constant commissions. Maybe the answer is to do both?


Is there even a right or wrong answer to this? Thoughts please.

You can go either way, or both ways.

I believe that for a beginner it might be easier to promote cheaper products which most people would buy.

Promoting more expensive products might require a bit more skill and practice.

Yet again, it depends on how a product helps solve a problem. If a $2000 products solves an important or long-term problem of your visitors they might easily purchase it.

Don't think about promoting products but rather recommending products which could somehow help your readers. It's much easier this way.

Hi, That's an interesting point you have brought up.
I would be prefer to have recurring monthly commissions or subscriptions rather than a big one off sale. If in the process you make a big commission that would be a bonus but regular incomes have more stability in the long term and provide a constant income.

You se, That's even better. Monthly payments no one has to think about except if they wish to cancel. I prefer monthly to repeat selling that's for sure. I've worked that much out myself over the years hence why i promote services rather than physical products currently.

There is no right or wrong answer to the question of should I go for big money sales or a lot of smaller sales. There are millions of products to represent as an affiliate and you just have to make your own business decision about which way you will take your own business

Maybe some niches don't lend themselves to big cash payouts though. I, for example, am focussing on how to play the Ukulele. I'm probably not going to sell a lot of Ukuleles because I'm a big believer in the ukulele choosing you. You know a little like the wizzard choosing the Wand (Harry Potter Reference). However, there are books, music, and accessories which I could definitely sell.

I like the way you are thinking, since I was just working out some numbers on a spreadsheet.

My theory is that I think I want my focus to be that similar to a retail store - a healthy mix of both high and low.
