The Internet - A Very Important Tool for ALL WA Members
Internet marketing defined as advertising and marketing efforts that use the
web & email to drive direct sales via electronic commerce as outlined below:
1. Web marketing includes e-commerce websites, affiliate marketing websites, online advertising on search engines, and organic search engine results via search engine optimization (SEO).
2. Email marketing involves both advertising and promotional marketing
efforts via email messages to current and prospective customers.
3. Social media marketing involves both advertising and marketing
(including viral marketing) efforts via social networking sites like Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube and Digg.
*****Note: Between 2000 and 2009, the number of people using the Internet
increased from 394 Million to 1.858 BILLION, Globally!!
So, it is no secret now why the Internet is such an Important Tool that people
use for so many various reasons.
Accordingly, the extreme advantages of using the Internet have become
abundantly clear:
1. Reaches wide audiences
2. Fast delivery to individuals and business
3. Provides immediate access to people looking to buy or check if
item available now
4. Provides immediate information about product, company, personnel,
phone numbers, directions, etc.....
However, on the flip side, there are some minor disadvantages also:
1. The most significant being related to others coping methods used by
successful companies
2. Medical problems are related to the addictive nature of the Internet
as an entertainment tool . By being glued to the computer, medical problems
can be a problem due to prolonged watching and sitting, while forgetting the
need for proper exercise.
3. Due to existing regulations that are NOT very strict, the children can
be exposed to many sites that are not suitable for their viewing, if they
are so inclined.
Accordingly, after taking all of the above statements of fact into
consideration, it would appear that the significant advantages outweigh
the disadvantages and that the Internet will be a permanent fixture in
our society for many years to come.
Conclusion: The structure of Wealthy Affiliate is such that we are a
365/24/7 Internet Operation and all aspects of our organization depend
on the Internet being functionally operational at all times. This becomes
such a great contribution for the WA community to be able to run an
effective online business from the comfort of their residence.
