SiteComments is not the same as SiteFeedback
I finally got Gravatar to work today so I could use the SiteComments feature!
So I went to SiteComments and earned some credits so I could request comments. And I'm so disappointed.
Why?
It's not that the comment I received was bad. It's just that it wasn't a "comment" like I needed.
It was feedback. They told me what they liked about my site and my writing style, and gave me suggestions to make it better. They gave me feedback on my website as a whole.
When you use SiteComments, you're supposed to leave a comment that is engaging and specific to the content. I usually skip through until I can find something that is interesting to me, so I can understand it and truly engage and write a comment that is specific to what they have written., or maybe share some of my own experiences. I make sure I'm able to communicate reader to web owner, instead of web owner to web owner.
It's just frustrating to me that some people don't do the same. I will definitely take the feedback I got to heart, but I had to disapprove it as a comment. And that sucks.

I think your statement that Comments should be "Reader to Web Owner", not "Web Owner to web Owner" really hits the mark. Great post.
Hey Kendall,
I think you make a valid point and observation. I would mention it to Kyle & Carson. They're very open to feedback like that about the site and all about making it better. So definitely mention this.
I feel your disappointment! You were right to disapprove and you will receive a better one...
I can see where people may cross over and have to catch themselves realizing the difference.
