2015 will be a year to remember.

Well, 2015 is here and now it's time to poop or get off the pot. I, like many others had visions of the changes I will make in my life for this year, but now that it's here the fear of change has shown its evil little face.

I tried to make things simple for myself by not putting too much pressure on myself to make huge changes in my life, but there are some things that must change if I am going to achieve peace and happiness going forward. The most important change I have to make is to quit smoking. I didn't make a resolution to stop when the New Year began, but I did make a promise to myself that Sunday, Jan. 4 will be the last day I smoke a cigar ever again in my life. I am not into breaking promises, that's why I seldom make them. So this is real.

I also want to change careers in 2015, I have a great union job, but at my age (50), it's getting to be too much on my body and health. I worked in Real Estate for 10 years prior to taking this job in 2010, so that is where my passion lies and I think the market is pretty safe for me to return to selling properties.

I did get married in 2014, so becoming the best husband and father I can be is another thing that I will continue to work on this year. I also intend to join the church I have been attending for the last 2 months. I really feel the need to become a better person and learn to appreciate life and living more. I am dedicated to taking better care of my mind, body, and spirit, and pray that everything else falls into place somehow.

Lastly, I intend to give more. That is, more of myself to my family and friends. I intend to give more to my place of prayer. I want to help others more by sharing my experience and knowledge to help make others life a little easier. I want to share my beliefs and offer a helping hand when needed. I want to listen and learn. Overall, I just want and will be a much better Kelly this year going forward.
