Focus and Money

This Wealthy Affiliate blog post is about clutter, focus and money.

Clutter, Clutter!

Clutter, Clutter on the WALL ?

Clutter, Clutter
-- do you represent money or do you represent time?

One of the first things that my big BMW brother said to me when we were kids (last century!) ... he said "Time is Money!"

He learned this at a tender young age of around 15 years young and that was during his first foray into the big world of business.

So I've remembered that phrase since.

Well, this is the first month of January into the New Year & New Decade of 2020!

A prime time to take a good look around at our surroundings!

Do you feel comfy being in your environment?

The environment that you work in, live in, dine in, play in, bathe in, sleep in, etc.

OR is it full of clutter?

Would you have piles of books or papers or clothes? .. or just STUFF?! ....

The habit of piling things occur when space becomes a premium as there's just too-o much stuff happening in the space available!

Well, this is a great time to sit back or step back and have a really good look around at your pad -- whether at home or office.

Time to lighten UP!

Yes, that STUFF represents YOUR MONEY!

Your money got converted into the STUFF when you bought it!

Most January's become a belt-tightening exercise -- usually in futility, perhaps?

Well, apparently, if you don't love it, use it, or need it or have some semblance of sentimental value attached to it >>> then, dispense with it!

Give it away, sell it!

I almost said trade it but that would bring in another thing that would be a space hog once again!

Now do you truly need that 'something' being a 'space hog?'

Extra, excessive stuff lying around causes attention deficits as the stuff will call our attention to it whether consciously or unconsciously -- the STUFF is there in your space!

You may be amazed at what useful thing that you had hidden away in the back closet or shelf and have now found it! ... Eureka! ...

Well, all to say, January is also a great month to save $$$ by less spending! ... because now you've found the stuff that you needed was there the whole time bunked away and only being brought to light NOW!

OK -- off with the dust balls!

There's an ol' saying: "a penny saved is a penny earned." ... the penny has all but disappeared outta circulation in some countries.

In today's terms, I'd say, "a dollar saved is a dollar earned!" ... so YOU can save a lot of $$$ this month by just not spending! or spending as much! ...

So have we got the point about economics and of how to best deal with clutter, clutter?

How comforting and serene would it be to live in a clutter-free zone!

With a clutter-free zone, your focus will be sharpened so that your concentration will be on the awesome Wealthy Affiliate Training, on building your business website to scale, and in creating quality content to engage your particular audience!

And that's because every loved & regularly used piece of stuff will be in its own home & place!

That's the Ideal scenario. . .

De-cluttering would be the WAy to go!

Why wait for Spring to arrive for the famous Spring clean-UP?

Get rolling to get this de-cluttering done NOW!

Let's rock 'n roll!

I would so love a clutter free home keishalina :) The problem is, lol, that the rest of my family members don't even notice the mess. So what should I do? I have made my peace with it, and live in hope of change :) I enjoyed your post and the thoughts it provoked. Thank you.

It changes when they all grow up (if you're talking about children) and move away!๐Ÿ˜

hey hi Ger -- good to see you here today!

Appreciate your reply and sharing very much!

Chacun son gout = each to their own taste!

Happy to learn that you've enjoyed this post and found some benefit for YOU!

All the very best, cheerio ... โšก๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‡โšก๏ธ ...

Lol. All I'll say is, it'll definitely be better. Like a mini pet farm here, with 20+ fish, 3 dogs, 2cats, various snakes and lizards.

So, hopefully when the kids do grow up and move away, they'll bring some pets along :)

Thanks Jeffrey.

Wow, you have a regular menagerie there, Ger!

You did not ask me if you could use those images of my clutter. At least it is organized and it is my clutter. lol
Just kidding. I actually just completed putting all of my cluttered notes into one 5-subject notepad! My fingers and hands hurt I wrote so much yesterday.

Thanks for sharing.
Mark

... so-o true! ... if that's what makes you feel happy -- so be it! ... lol .. ok live in organized clutter! ...

... i'm trying to go 'virtual !'.... i guess 'minimalist' would be the same thing perhaps! ... too-o much stuff is really a burden! ... and takes away focus and energy ...

... the old adage of everything in its place and a place for everything counts! ....

... hope you've had good day .. enjoy a cuppa here to refresh a wee bit ... โ˜•๏ธ ... or perhaps green tea .... ๐Ÿต ....

cheerio ... :)

A 3 hour break to watch the football game feels like a week off. Go LSU!

... glad to hear you're taking a wee break for yourself! ... :)

I will work Jan-March to take April- December off.

hey that's what i do! ... lol ... :)

Decluttering... That is becoming a great niche!

It is THE SKILL of the next decade. Why?

In the past, we treasure books. it cost money to buy and we join libraries to read. READING was the skill then.

As literacy rates go up and the internet becoming the biggest library in the world, access to reading materials especially e-books etc is available to all. We have more to read, to learn and to do than we have time.

Therefore, I think to DISCERN and DECLUTTER so that we can be effective would be necessary skills for the next decade.

- Stanley

... uhm, de-cluttering as a niche! ... ya -- good one! ... helps people! ... with the Earth getting so-o clogged with stuff, especially plastics! ...

... also, very interesting forecasting the next vaunted skill -- Stanley you're amazing! ....

... Appreciate your thoughtful replies and cosmic commentaries! ..

Ha! Ha! I would rather stay grounded that be out of this world!

... lol ... ok .... being grounded and centered is being in balance with the Universe so it's all ok! ...

.... please -- enjoy a cuppa ... โ˜•๏ธ .... cheerio ... :)

Hey Keishalina. That was a very clutter free post. I enjoyed a two day declutter session in our loft room a few weeks back. WOW it was so liberating. Now thinking of making that beautiful room into an office space because it's south facing and even has it's own microwave oven. How did that get there? Good grief! Time is more important than money because we can never get it back and there is no way to store it. Haven't discovered a time bank yet.
Keep WAking us up with your words.

Steve

You'd be the richest man in the universe if you DID discover a time bank, Steve!๐Ÿ˜Ž

.... it's like Magic, Steve! ... the lo and behold! effect when one uncovers what's under the 'dustballs!' ... lol ... voila! ... a microwave oven! ...

.... that's wonderful -- you've now got a whole new lease of an office space for you to work in and to enjoy blogging some more!

... all the best Steve ..... enjoy a Marvelous Monday, Thundering Tuesday, Wondrous Wednesday, Thrilling Thursday, Fabulous Friday! ... :)

... hey that's a novel idea -- to create / imagineer a time bank! ... we've had time machines?! ... cool! ... ๐Ÿ˜Ž

You bet, Keisha! First one there is a gazillionaire!๐Ÿ˜Ž

...uhm -- gazillionaire -- sounds dandy fine! ... go for it! ... :)

I thought you might like that!๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I will keep you informed Jeff. I think philosophically speaking I already have one but it would take a while to explain how it works or how I think it works. Oh dear!
S

Alas the microwave oven has been given other duties. Still got the space though and only two flights of stairs to the kitchen & that's good for my health and fitness.
Now busy imagineering a Time Bank.
The very best of a wonderful week to you too Keisha.
๐ŸŒŸSteve

... yes, interesting concept ' Time Bank!' ... kindly keep us posted on it ... thanks! ...

Great idea Keisha, I have been working on de-cluttering for several months, that old "I might use that sometime in the future" thought keeps fighting back.
I do believe that "we" are the only thing that holds us back from real progress.
Still working on that and will commit anew, thanks for the reminder.
Ray

Ray, my grandfather said it best when he siad, "Once I throw it away, it's then that I will need it!" sure enough, those wise words hold true for me today!

LOL - That is how I feel too often, still fighting.
Ray

hi Ray --- you are so right on and astute about our creature habits!

the ol' -- 'i might need it sometime' thinking! ... it's a real challenge as in an earlier day and age, we (as humans) didn't have a lot of stuff as we do today.

It's only since the post war-era that manufacturing of consumer goods have gone on tremendously so that in effect a lot of households and offices are generally 'over-stuffed!' ... well, in most of North America perhaps ... it would be interesting to hear from all parts of the world if this phenomenon of 'stuff' exists, too!

And it is true, with 'too much' stuff, it does drain our attention and focus unwittingly ... just being aware of it is half the battle! ...

all the best & keep moving onward & UPward to Success!

cheerio .... :)

... some daze, ya! ... :)

I know what you mean, Ray! ๐Ÿ™„
