Six Weeks Here, What I've Learned
Well I haven't blogged here on WA yet so I thought I'd take a moment to do so. I've been a part of WA for six weeks now and wanted to share what I've learned so far.
When I first joined I had found this community by searching for how to make money online. I really had no clue what I was even looking for or if I'd find something legit. When I made the decision to actually give WA a try and go premium I still had a mindset of "making fast money". I think it's human nature to what to see quick results! My first page I chose a niche that I thought would be a money-maker.
And while I had some good ideas in the beginning I began to lose steam. I skipped through training videos, I kept getting ahead of myself instead of taking it slow and following the step. This mistake led me to feel more confused and frustrated. Then for about a week I abandoned the whole idea of ever succeeding and was going to cancel my membership.
After some time to really think I had a change of heart and realized that I was just going about it all the wrong way. There wasn't anything wrong with me, or anything wrong with WA. I thought of a niche that I had passion about, not just something I thought would make money. Suddenly the ideas started flowing and everything just "clicked". I started my trainings again and this time I follow them. No more jumping ahead, no more searching for that instant gratification. I set small goals everyday and I follow through with them. I no longer look at this as a way to make fast money. I see this now as a journey, as my own business, and from now on I'm treating it as so.
I haven't made any money yet but now I have a page that I've so excited about, and I'm full of motivation and excitement. I wish everyone here lots of success and happiness in their journey!

That's exactly how I've been feeling. This is my first week here and I am on the 3rd lesson, choosing a niche. I really like your website. I already shared your cauliflower pizza crust recipe to my FB crowd. I was so excited to see that you are certified in holistic health.
I have struggled with fibromyalgia for over 15 years. Really going back and forth on making this my niche.
Thank you so much for sharing my recipe!! :)
If I could give any advice for choosing a niche it would be to ask yourself these questions:
Can you think of at least 6 different articles/blogs that you could write on this topic? And will you enjoy researching and writing about it?
Personally I've discovered that I need to feel excited about my niche or I won't keep writing!
Best of luck to you, lets keep in touch here on WA I would love to see what you create :)
I would love to keep in touch. Just did some research and found some great products I can promote. The problem is I have tons of research and at times I go backwards and really struggle with my health. So, at first I thought it would be too overwhelming a subject for me. But, I think this can help me get back on track and implement some new strategies. When I'm not doing well, I am not so passionate. On the other hand, it's my journey and that can be incorporated into my blog. I'm going to have to go premium!
Yes with personal experience you will never run out of content! I definitely recommend going premium, I had doubts about it at first, but it's completely worth it. I look at the monthly payment as paying for school, and I have learned so much already.
Thank you all for the encouragement and kind words! I'm not even letting myself think of money right now, just focusing on writing content and learning :)
Glad to hear that it's all clicking now Karyn. I can understand the want to rush ahead and get to the making money part. I found myself doing that at times as well. But you hit the nail on the head about doing something that you're passionate about. As long as you're sincere and willing to help people, the money will follow. :)
Now I think you've got it figured out... I used to do the same thing...look for what I thought would make the most money, rather than something that I was passionate about. I usually knew nothing about the topic(s) I was trying to build a site around, which meant one thing... research. Painful. Boring. Research. Because I had no interest or passion in the topic, every minute seemed like torture, and I also fizzled out. I have since learned to stick with what makes me happy and the entire process seems a lot less like a chore. Best of luck to you! Don't worry, the money will come...
Hello Karyn,
It is good that you stepped back to move forward, I did exactly the same and had to restart.
Sure, there is lots of work ahead but the end result should be worth it in the end, not at the pace we want but we must persevere on this journey.
Good luck,
Jonicas

I've been here a lot longer and no money, YET. Raason, time taken from my cab job and what I'm doing. I'm simply learning from my dj site right now. Tweaking, going through webmaster tools, trying to get traffic, holding off on the money making part to focus on traffic. Junk like that. As soon as I learn the foundation WELL enough, then the world is mine. This DJ site is an interest of mine but I don't think this particular site will bring me much money. On to making other sites when I'm ready. Scotty B ♪ ♫
