About Katie520
Joined January 2019
I have been working from home online for four years now for a medical coding company. I have PLENTY of work to do. If we need more money, I put in more hours. And since we are barely scraping by each month, I am constantly trying to put in more hours. I barely leave the house anymore, except to run the kids around to their different activities. I have become a slave. I'm looking for a way to make some passive income that can help support our financial needs but also help to give me my life back!

Excellent Katie, I know you will achieve your goals. As you start seeing more progress and results, you will be able to spend more time on your business.

When I started out online, I had limited time because I was in school full time and I was able to achieve "full time" status within the online business world in a year. I totally understand that we all have "time" issues in life, but I absolutely know you can do the same and accomplish the same sort of success!

Take action on the training here, immerse yourself within the community, and ask for help when you need it. This is your sure path to your own personal goals and successes Katie! :)

Ok everyone, I feel completely ridiculous here. I'm not a writer. I really have no idea what I'm doing. Before I go and post anything to the entire world, I thought I'd share it with you first. I hope this isn't going against any rules here or anything.

I'm on lesson 7 of level 1 and need to create my "About Me" page. This is what I came up with for the brief welcome to my website. What do you think? Does it make any sense? I'm tough, I can take the criticism. So critique away. And thank you in advance for any input you provide!
==============================================

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - Chinese Proverb.

For me, I'd say it's more like a dance. Two steps forward, one step back, slide to the right, slid to the left, quarter-spin to the right, and repeat. If you noticed, there is a forward progression to this dance. It is just taking longer to reach any kind of destination due to all the other moves in the routine.

While all these twists and turns help to make the dance more interesting, they also can distract us from our main goals and purposes. Diluting our purpose and blurring our visions. That is what this website will be all about. Creating a better-choreographed dance that, while still interesting, will help expose and transport us to life as we imagine it could be.

Are you ready to join me? It's time to slip into your dancing shoes, turn up the music, and let's dance!

P.S. The name I came up with for my website is ImaginedLife. Learning to live life as we imagine it could be. I'm figuring my niche will be a mix of tips about working-from-home, becoming better organized, time-management tips, and then throwing in fun stuff like traveling on a budget with kids and other things that can make life more enjoyable even when you are living on a tight budget. I hope that isn't too broad of a niche!

P.S.S. For those following me, I'm counting this as Day 3 for my writing practice. :)

I'm not sure I quite believe you're not a writer, Katie. You've stated your case rather well!!

I would suggest writing about what you know and posting it in the community. If it's related to your niche, you can adapt your postings (here) for your web site. You can write about anything. The simple act of creating a post is a positive!!

This is, of course, a learning experience and we're all on a curve here. For some, the curve is rather steep and they learn quickly. For others, the curve is much flatter, so it takes more time to learn what is needed in this field.

Take heart, It sounds to me as if you're well on your way!

All the best to you,

mitch

Katie, just reading that has me excited to see what your site will become! So I guess you ARE a writer huh? I'd say just be genuine. Write what you feel. You don't have to be a "writer" to get your point across!

Thank you, Mitch! It takes me hours, or even days, to write anything and then even more hours to make revisions on what I wrote before I can post anything. I hope I'll be able to scale that down once I've gotten enough practice in.

That's a great idea to write posts here on WA and then adjust them as needed for my website. Kind of like a practice run for a post. I've mainly been focusing on getting the layout of my website all set up so far. Creating the menus and main static content for each main menu. So far, I only have two "real" posts.

Are we allowed to post things like product/book reviews in the community here? They would be related to working from home, building a business, business tools, and self-improvement type of topics. Or do I need to keep it to instructional and motivational type of topics?

Hey, Katie. You are not restricted to the content of your posts. However, all posts must be respectful and it would be best to stay away from any type of political discourse. Otherwise, it's wide open!

Hope this helps,

Hey Katie, I wanted to stop by and personally welcome you to WA. I know you are going to love our WA community.

Whether you're here to build a business, a website or just want to learn and make money online, you are in the right place.

Here are my 2 quick recommendations on getting started out the best possible way:

1. Please complete your account sign setup. This is just a simple 1 minute process that will better help myself and WA know more about you and your goals. I'd like to get to know you better and help you get going.

2. After you've done this, check this page out:
Online Entrepreneur Certification - Getting Started (Level 1)

Follow this step by step course and you will be on your way to success.

That's right.

Trust me this training works. Just follow the lessons and if you have any questions Katie, give me a shout.

One more thing you should know.

Currently you're a Starter member of WA. This is completely free and you can do a lot of things such as build 2 free websites, get access to training and the online chat, among other cool perks!

If you see that WA and it's training is something you'd like to continue, I would highly recommend upgrading to the Premium membership. It's usually $47 per month, but if you sign up within the first 7 days of joining WA
you can get a 59% discount ($19 for the first month).

Talk to you soon!

Kirk
