A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Hello WA friends, I just wanted to recommend that everyone always adds at least one or two photos to each blog post, as not only does it add interest and engage with visitors, it can help with rankings. In addition, always add alt text, and use your main keyword in the featured image.

I use Pixabay, Pexels, and Google images for sources. However, if you use Google images always make sure you filter "free to use or share even commercially." Also, I've recently been using Canva pro to source images. Having used Depositphotos for a long time, I found equally good photos in Canva Pro, but far cheaper. Of course, if you want really unique images, use your own photos!

Wishing everyone a happy Monday, and stay safe:)

Kathy

Hi Kathy thanks for the info. So far l have only used photos that l have taken myself. Also
Videos that l personally filmed using YouTube as a platform to embed the videos on to my website. Reason being is that l craft or make everything and record it and l haven't got sophisticated filming paraphernalia, oooh that's a long word, all I've used is my Smartphone!
So anyone can just shoot away on the go as it were and use personal images. Like you said unique to your subject matter. That being said it's always good to have back up or alternatives, ie. archives you can dip in if you are not savvy with your aim :-) So thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the input Julia. While I mostly use stock images, I have incorporated some of my own images as well. I've still yet to start creating videos:)

Thanks Kathy, Great minds think alike. Here are some freebies I posted too.

Hi Kathy,

Trust that you are keeping well and also safe.
This post is so true, always have images on my articles, do tend not to on my WA Blogs.
Agree with your sources, but I do have a reasonably large media library on the computer, even if they are categorized it still takes time to find a suitable one, but it is all good fun.
Take Care.
Stuart

Thanks for your input Stuart. My media library has also grown over time, and often end up using images multiple times. I've not categorised them, but tend to just scroll through until I find one that fits:)
Take care
Kathy

Talk about great minds, I do the same, also have one or two favourites which get used quite a lot.
As always look after yourself.
Stuart

Cool. I use Unsplash, Pixabay, Pexel and some of the other free image sites. Also trying out Canva Pro now.

Thanks Stanley. Unsplash is also good, and I've used it quite a few times:)
