My tyre is flat

Just a wee story that happened to me and highlighted what excellent customer service can do for a business.

I popped into a local garage as I had a slow puncture. There are tons of these garages around I chose this one for no reason, other than it was easy to get to.

Firstly, the atmosphere was great, all the workers laughing and joking and the owner had a flirt with me (astute business man!). I asked if I could book my car in to get the tyre looked at. "Och no hen, ye dinnae need tae book it in, we'll tak a wee lookie the noo."

He took my keys, came back 10mns later and said it was a leaky valve. all fixed now. I asked how much? "Ye kin have this on the hoose ma dear, it wisnae much tae dae."

WOW, he did it for FREE!

Both my daughters now have their cars booked in there for repairs and I've recommended this garage to many of my friends.

This guy knows what he is doing, none the less I was impressed. It highlighted what a "quality" give away can do for your business.

I'm off to see what quality giveaway I can produce!

Tyre (tīr)
An ancient Phoenician city on the eastern Mediterranean Sea in present-day southern Lebanon. The capital of Phoenicia after the 11th century bc, it was a flourishing commercial center noted for its purple dyestuffs and rich, silken clothing. Tyre was besieged and captured by Alexander the Great in 332 bc and was destroyed by a Mameluke army in ad 1291.

Thank you, interesting history!

Nice and instructive story Kathy! But I can't avoid one question: what slang or dialect did the owner speak???????
