Birthing an online business is a wild and powerful experience.
I wanted to quit every 30 seconds.
“I’m not strong enough. I’m not tough enough. I should go get a real job and forget I ever had dreams. I’ll work it out in therapy some other time.”
And after a full year of the hardest work I’ve ever done in my life, I added “failing” to the list of my life’s greatest achievements.
Birthing an online business is a wild and powerful experience. I’ve done it twice now, and each time I’ve thought to myself, I can’t believe people do this.
What I have learned in 3 short months at WA is small potatoes by comparison to what I thought I knew before.
I am here at Wealthy Affiliate because I learned the hard way. I already did it badly without the support.
The Wealthy Affiliate community has my back.
Support is everything.
In business and in life.
Your support team are the people who keep believing for you when you stop believing in yourself.
Not believing IN you. Believing FOR you.
As in, “Let me hold the vision for you while you have your moment of crazy.”
As in, “I’ll listen and nod along when you tell me it’s too hard and you can’t do it.”
Or maybe, “I’ll watch your launch flop, watch you ghost your list for 18 months, apply for jobs you don’t want...
...and then I’ll wipe your bloody nose and throw you back in the ring.”
Your support team are your coaches, mentors, mastermind leaders, and online course teachers.
Without those people in place, realizing your vision will take longer.
It will be harder.
You may never get there.
Or worse, you’ll get there only to find you resent the process so much you can’t even appreciate what you’ve achieved.
You have to know who those people are. Find them. Invest in them.
Heavily.
It’s so, so worth it.

The first time I published a post and then received a comment on the post rank right up there.
My first email subscriber.
My first $100 day.
Those extra special days when Ive worked extra hard on a post and I publish and I think it's my best work and then someone really influential validates that by commenting (of course this only happens on round up posts about these influencers).
The days where people tell me I've touched their lives or helped them with something that was holding them back.
I can't seem to pick just one defining moment.

The struggle is real, but the reward is amazing. And it's true that having help is a likely necessity for most of us. I love the support here at WA, too, and have found it invaluable in this business. If the only other option is to keep struggling at a full-time job and having no time for myself or my family, I'll take this struggle any day. I'd rather reach the end of my life, look back and know that I at least tried.
This is great! I have felt this. I Know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Being a newbie in this business can feel like you trying feel you way through a dark closet that belongs to someone else.
But with the awesome support we have on our team, there is no way for me to go but up! It might take me a while, but I'll get there!

Hi Kathleen! Ahhh so nicely written, and worth noting this obvious and amazing challenge in our lives! Well, I have to say that the greatest moment was discovering that WA is the real deal and that in itself was a huge lift for me! Fast forward 7 months later, and I'm in Ahhhh with having the ability to meet amazing people, seek out support and connect with great minds like yourself!
