My first year at Wealthy Affiliate [My own slice of land]
It has been a year. I can barely believe it. It seems like only yesterday that I hesitantly signed up as a starter member. I was pretty sure—at the time anyway—that Wealthy Affiliate would just be another place set on getting my money and offering very little in return.
Boy oh boy was I wrong.
Well, yes, they got my money, in fact, I signed up for two years as I renewed during Black Friday, too. But, I also received way more than I paid for—in my humble opinion.
I have set up five websites. I own five pieces of virtual property where I can plant the seeds of my passions, tend to them, nourish them and watch them grow. Then, when the time has come, I can reap or harvest the benefits of the work I have done.
As a girl who grew up on a farm, the planting and harvesting illustration is very near and dear to my heart.
I helped my parents farm for all my growing up life until I went away to the big city to get "educated" and try to make my way.
Funny thing is, I returned home years later and, like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, I found there was no place like home.
The sweet smell of earth after a gentle rain. The freedom of running through the tall corn stalks and getting "lost" in what felt like a field of forever! Smelling the fresh-cut alfalfa fields. Watching the oats and wheat bend gently in the breeze on a hot harvest day.
I am still in the planting stage of several of my sites. I have harvested some early benefits from a couple of my sites, but mostly, I am in the planting stage on the ones that I love the most.
I have learned a lot during this year. I have made some awesome connections with some amazing people. That is the most important thing to me at this time.
I will continue my slow but steady work and will reap the harvest in due time.
Wealthy Affiliate has been a life-saver for me in many ways. I love this community and the lessons and look forward to all that is yet to come my way!
Best wishes,
Karin 😁

That is so encouraging for someone like me, a beginner, who is "feeling" out WA to see if it is just another site out to get my money. Thank you!
