It's not ALL about the money

When I joined Wealthy Affiliate several years ago, I thought it would be my gateway to freedom in an overnight sort of fashion. People would absolutely fall in love with my words and my websites, and I would see riches beyond human understanding!

Well, not really, but I sure was hoping that I would see money coming in in a fast and significant way.

I did see money come in during the first few months and have seen money come in periodically, as well. Not like I had originally hoped or planned, but certainly nothing to snub my nose at, either. One thing I always seem to lack, however, is a vital ingredient in the money-making business.

Why Is Consistency Important?

That "vital" ingredient? Consistency.

Consistency, (according to my Buddy, ChatGPT) means: doing something reliably and regularly over time. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about showing up again and again, even when it’s hard, boring, or inconvenient.

Hmmm... that makes sense. If you work a "regular" job and are not consistent, would you make much money? Would you even keep the job for very long?

My guess is no. Maybe I'm wrong. But for the jobs I have held, consistency is important. As an ad sales rep, it is vital or I can go from getting $10 one week to $1000 the next. I have to remain consistent so that my checks remain consistent!

In affiliate marketing, consistency is key because if you let up or are not consistent you can lose people. You can lose potential clients, customers and confidence of others because you will appear to be wishy-washy.

Consistency makes us "look" like we are a great source because we are offering something of value on a regular and reliable time frame. It may not be perfect, but it is "perfectly consistent!"

Another Vital Ingredient

Confidence is another ingredient that you must have if you want the recipe for success to work out.

Confidence isn't so much about our confidence, but about our readers/customers confidence in us as a source that can meet their needs.

Confidence in ourselves is important, do not misunderstand that. However, the confidence that our readers/customers grow in us and our information is much more vital. We have to earn their trust/confidence in us so that we become the ones they look to for information.

Earning the confidence/trust of our clients/customers is so important, it may even be more important than consistency!

Between being consistent and having and earning the confidence of our clients, we can begin to really build a legacy. Consistency and confidence are two of the many key ingredients to building our dreams. They are the foundations upon which those dreams are built.

To building our dreams,
Karin 😎

you are right, for how many days have I been consistent to learn what's inside WA, with me apply consistency to always practice In the core training I learned more or less what is valuable here, I tried on TikTok affiliate, I got affiliate orders on TikTok in a row how many days today Thank you WA.

Good morning Karin,

I hope you are doing well and business is good. It's been a long time since I have seen you right on the platform, or perhaps I've missed your posts?

I agree with you, consistency really is key with Internet marketing. Something that I have always noticed is that successful Internet marketers are always consistent.

Yes you make a valid point, regarding being consistent and are full-time jobs, if we didn't turn up, we would get very far, which is so true!

I believe confidence and being real is very important for our readers or viewers. People want to hear the truth and want to see the real person, not someone who was making up things.

I hope that you have a great weekend and thank you for the post.

I have not been on much as I was pursuing other platforms for income, but I think I am figuring out a way to do both now! They were both compatible, just the other one started taking up all my time.

Now to find the way to be consistent with both!

Thanks for your kind thoughts, Roy!

Have a great weekend!

Good morning Karin,

I'm glad that all is well with you.

I understand where you're coming from, Karin. Before I joined Wealthy Affiliate, which will soon be 11 years ago, I was a member of a similar platform. To be fair, both platforms were very good, the original platform that I belonged to was much smaller, but still good. The owner seemed to stop putting up content, which made me decide to just go with Wealthy Affiliate. I must admit, it was quite hard being part of two platforms.

I do hope that you can find a way to be consistent with both. Different things work for different people.

It sounds like you're moving forward, which is great news.

A very happy Sunday to you.

Roy

Excellent points, Karin!
This sounds a lot like myself as well...started out being pretty consistent and then not so much here and there over the years, which didn't help my sales very much at all. So, lately I've been trying to get back into it again.

I guess it's much the same as I've heard the saying from my art teacher "Done is better than perfect."

This is a great reminder to be more consistent, Karin! Yeah, I'm pretty sure most jobs don't like it if their employees don't show up consistently to work...they get fired eventually.

Thanks for sharing!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Same for me :)

Being consistent is something that so many lack. I know I lack it! When I write these, I am usually writing them to myself as much as to anyone else! With the ability to craft a good start for my posts on my websites, it should be so much easier to be consistent! Should be!

Here's to us being more consistent, Sherry!

I think it is the same for so many of us! I know it is for me!

1

Same here! You'd think I could learn by now to be more consistent, lol.

Yes indeed, Karin! Here's to us being more consistent! 🥂😎

1

Well, it's good to know I'm not the only one! I think there's quite a few of us. :)

1

Indeed! I am working on it myself. I am short on patience these days and I know that is what makes me so inconsistent. I need to just keep going forward with regular worthwhile posts and stop trying to save the whole world! LOL

Consistency. It made me visit China and back to Africa without paying a dime. How? I write consistently until I got published on the national newspaper. Now, I'm the talk in the town. People ask, "Did John write anything today?" and that means a lot.

I won a ticket to China and back because of my political journalism articles, articles that are more than headlines, but opinions, thoughts about what we can do better to fix the country, South Sudan.

Yes, this applies to any kind of business.
Thanks for noticing this important ingredient.

John

That's a great prise, well done. However never knock China or you may not come back.

That is some awesome work John! Well done. Stay consistent! 👏

What an amazing story, John! That is the way to do it—consistency!

You are ever so welcome!

You are right, the 2 things you need are consistency and confidence, You can not build a successful business if you post a few articles and then quit for a month or two.

People quit producing because the do not see the results they want in a month or two. If you have confidence in what you are doing and the consistency to keep going. The results will come.

Thank you

You have got that correct, Larry! Consistent posting with high-quality content is key. Absolutely key!

I’m sure at first most of us had stars in our eyes and they were green. But I’ve found that WA offers more than money.

Wealthy Affiliate (WA) offers a number of intangible benefits beyond just training and tools. These perks aren’t always listed on sales pages but are often what long-term members value most. Here are some key ones:

1. Confidence Boost

Learning new digital skills—like building websites, affiliate marketing, and SEO—helps members feel empowered, especially those who thought online business was “too techy” for them.

2. Supportive Community

The WA community is known for being incredibly welcoming. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned marketer, you’ll find members ready to:
• Answer questions quickly
• Offer encouragement during tough times
• Share real-life experiences

3. Mindset Shift

Being around entrepreneurs can shift how you think. You move from a consumer mindset to a creator mindset. You start asking:
• “How can I monetize this?”
• “What niche do I enjoy?”
• “How can I help others online?”

4. Sense of Purpose

For retirees, stay-at-home parents, or anyone seeking a new path, WA offers the chance to build something meaningful—whether that’s income, influence, or impact.

5. Global Friendships

Because members come from all over the world, you make friends and connections far beyond your local circle. You might end up collaborating, cross-promoting, or just chatting over your mutual interests.

6. Continuous Learning

WA encourages a growth mindset. There’s always a new course, member-created training, or blog post to spark ideas. You’re never stuck in one stage for too long.

7. Accountability

Posting updates and progress inside the WA platform builds momentum. Knowing others are watching your journey gives you motivation to stick with it—even when life gets in the way.

8. Creative Outlet

Whether it’s designing a logo, writing blog posts, or brainstorming niche ideas, WA provides an outlet for creativity that can be personally fulfilling—even before the money comes in.

9. Problem-Solving Skills

You become better at figuring things out. From tech hiccups to Google algorithm changes, WA teaches you how to troubleshoot and adapt. (Boy does it do that!)

10. Real Conversations About Goals

Outside of WA, most people don’t talk about affiliate income, SEO strategies, or passive income goals. Inside WA, those are everyday conversations—and that’s incredibly motivating.

Awesome response, Shirley! Yes, WA has so many of the keys to success! You touched on the many ways, and that is so useful! One of my favorites was #10. Outside of WA, I hear a lot of people complaining about how they don't have any money. However, they have no limit to explaining how they are NOT going to join something like WA!

Well, to each their own, I guess! They just don't know what they are missing out on!
