How you do anything is how you do everything

In addition to the many affiliate marketing pursuits that I engage in, I am also a Network Marketer.

One of the things I have heard a lot lately in our trainings is this phrase, "How you do anything is how you do everything." I wanted to break that down for a minute because it really makes a lot of sense.

When you think about how you do the things you do, you may not actually give them much thought. I know I usually don't. I don't think about the impacts or the reactions of others based on what I do or do not do.

But when you think about it from the perspective of "how I do anything is how I do everything," your ideas might just change a bit.

Let me give you an example...

How I Get Dressed

Okay. So this may not be the best example, but then again, it might be the best example of the statement than anything else I could give you.

Think about it...

Let's say I get up and I decide I am not going to do the things that I would normally do to show that I care about my appearance. I don't comb my hair or apply make-up or even get dressed. I just don't really care how I look, so I am not going to do anything else than just get up and go.

Well, do you think that if I want to make a positive impression on anyone, I will do that?

Undoubtedly, I will be making an impression, but I assume most people are not going to pay much attention to me, at least not in a positive way.

If I want to make a positive impression, I have to at least pretend like I care about how I look.

It's the same if I want to do anything else. If I only do things half-heartedly, it is going to show in everything (or almost anything) that I do.

Now there are days when I go out without putting on makeup. I will also go out with a t-shirt on when I could have made a better choice.

How we present ourselves is important. I didn't realize it much in the past, but I am seeing it more and more: How I do anything is how I do everything.

How Do You Do Things?

I know that I personally am being more mindful of what and how I do anything, because whether we believe it or not, people are watching us, especially if we are promoting products.

When we put ourselves out there, we need to be mindful of what we do and what we say, and be very intentional about the words we use—whether written or spoken. Why? Because they matter.

I know this because I am not always very intentional about my words. I will throw out comments that could be hurtful, even though I might think they are funny. The person/people we are talking with might even laugh, but that does not mean they are not hurt or confused by what we say.

The Bottom Line

Be mindful, because how you do anything is how you do everything.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Karin

I am being more mindful about what I do and say these last few years because I would often throw out comments that people did not seem to understand. Now I kinda just say nothing. I never thought about how I handle things generally. I just try not to do or say silly things each day.MAC.

I hope you will find your voice again and start to share with people. Perhaps through your blogs or other writing? I find that I am able to communicate better that way. But even then, I have said things that are hard to understand or are hurtful.

It’s a matter of mindfulness and balance.

We got this!

Yes, I should blog more. That would be a good way to express myself. I will work on that. 👍

It would certainly give you a voice and a way to work mindfully on what you say! It sure helps me to be able to express myself.

Absolutely right Karen, The way you handle small responsibilities reveals how you’ll handle major ones. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Hi Wen,

It is so important to remember these things because we are being watched and judged, too. We make choices every day and how we present ourselves is one of the choices we make!

Thank you for reading!

I am also affiliate marker and network market. I believe both of these are intertwined with each other! I believe you must be consistent and persistent with anything and everything that we do!

Hi.

Thanks for checking out the post and commenting.

I think so affiliate marketing and network marketing go hand in hand, as well!

Being consistent and persistent are vital, not only for our businesses, but for life overall!

Have a great weekend!

I am reading a book called "the Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino. He talks a lot about being persistent! You might enjoy the book!

I have read that book in the past. But I need to read it again to refresh my memory!
