Is mindfulness just Woo-Woo or is something there
I've been thinking a lot about mindfulness lately. I keep wondering if something is there or if seeking a greater "enlightenment" is just a bunch of woo-woo.
I'm doing my research on this because I am genuinely curious. I think I wrote a while back about vibrational frequencies, but just as a refresher (and in case I didn't actually write about them and just thought I did):
Vibrational frequencies refer to the idea that everything, including our bodies and thoughts, emits energy that vibrates at specific rates. Higher frequencies are often associated with positive states like love, joy, peace, and vitality, while lower frequencies are linked to stress, fear, or illness. (Information gleaned from a ChatGPT question about this.)

I have, unfortunately, been operating at the lower frequencies because of stress related to all the moving I've done in the past month (moving meaning selling everything except the contents of a suitcase and a backpack). I moved to Indiana and then moved back to Minnesota a couple of weeks later.
This idea comes from the blending of science-backed information and metaphysics (think "The Secret"). Saying that our bodies, from our cells to our organs, do produce measurable frequencies (who knew?) and that if we think "good" and positive things, we can attract more of those good and positive things.
Okay. Great. So what do we do with the information?
Write a Book!

So I wrote a book. Or more accurately, I am in the process of writing it. It is a 21-day energy awakening program specific to Kundalini.
Kundalini is "a concept from yoga and spiritual traditions that refers to a dormant spiritual energy said to lie coiled at the base of the spine. When awakenedโthrough practices like meditation, breathwork, or yogaโit is believed to rise up through the chakras (energy centers), leading to higher consciousness, spiritual awakening, and deep inner transformation," according to ChatGPT.
I have discovered much, much more about it and how to do it as I have researched this at length. The research part is mostly done. Now it is to put it into practice and record how/if/when it works and the results specific to my practice. I will incorporate those findings into the research portion, and then I am hoping to have a very good guide to this practice, along with personal experience that may or may not prove useful to a reader.
Yoga

Let's be real. I let my body "go" for a long time. Even when I was in better physical shape, yoga was difficult for me to do because I have never been known for being very limber!
But, I told myself, "I can do this." It is far from perfect, but I am getting better every day.
I used to tell myself, "I can't do this." No matter what it was, the first words out of my mouth (especially for something new or different) were, "I can't do that."
For years, literally years, I avoided getting down on the ground or floor because I just knew that I would not be able to get back up.
About a month ago, I started to deliberately get down on the floor or ground and make myself get back up without a bench or chair nearby to help me up. I found out that I CAN indeed get up and down from the floor, and it is getting easier every time I do it. I now get down on the floor for stretching at least 3 times a day!
Honestly, I do not think I was on the floor 3x in the previous five years unless I fell down.
What does this have to do with Affiliate Marketing?

Well, it actually has a lot to do with every aspect of our lives, including affiliate marketing, network marketing, and more!
When we adopt a negative attitude about things in life, do you think that it just affects how we relate to that one thing?
Nope. It often (if not always) shapes how we relate to everything. At the company with which I do network marketing, we have a saying, "How you do ANYTHING is how you do EVERYTHING!"
Think about that for a minute.
If you are negative about one thing, you are more than likely negative about other things, too.
Sometimes, it takes a genuine friend to show you just how negative you have become. That is what happened with me.
And now I have moved back to my hometown, and I see and hear things differently. I hear what others say and I think, "That is what I sounded like."
I am becoming more and more consciously aware of the things I think and say, and it is starting to make a difference in how I am speaking and being.
I am becoming more "mindful" about my words and actions. Even in how I dress.
So, I am thinking that mindfulness is not a bunch of woo-woo but a way of being. A way of interacting with our world and a way of becoming a stronger human being.
I will keep you updated and add more mindfulness moments to my WA blog as time progresses.
In the meantime, keep aware of your words and actions; people do see and hear them. Remember that even if they don't "hear" the words physically, they can also "hear" the negativeness in your written words, as well.
I'm not saying let's all be like Pollyanna, but a little bit of positivity never hurts!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

To me, โmindfullnessโ is far from woo-woo, a chosen way of being for a time and, through practice, has become a process that I use regularly to interrupt my current state and to help change my state from one focus point to another.
I hope that makes sense. If not, feel free to ask.
;-)
Richard
That makes perfect sense, Richard. Thank you for sharing your input. I find that through meditation and mindfulness I am more aware of the things that are important.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Karin!
This is a very interesting post about things that I find very intriguing. I appreciate the share. I look forward to hearing more about your book and your study of Kundalini.
Much success to you! Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards,
Nichola
Thank you, Nichola. It is something I never would have imagined myself studying or even being interested in before. But it is very interesting and I will share!
Karin๐
You are welcome! But here you are! You never know what will grab your attention. Looking forward to it!
I am interested in Karin's study of Kundalini too. I hadn't ever heard of it before.
Isabella
Awesome! It sounds very intriguing. I heard the word before in connection to yoga but I never researched its meaning.
You got that right, Nichola. Like I said, I never thought I would be at this junction in life, but here I am.
Hope you have a great weekend!

What you say makes a lot of sense. I am reading about this myself, and there is excellent material on Gail's website. I think I've always thought of 'mindfulness' differently, but I like your interpretation. And having a 'can do' attitude rather than an 'I can't' absolutely makes a world of difference to how you view life and how you get on in life.
Wishing you all the best on this journey.
Isabella
Thank you for reading it, Isabella. There is so much that we don't know and so much more to know if we just take the opportunity to explore. I am exploring!
Karin๐
It really is a very interesting thing to study and experience.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi, Karin.
I have heard a lot of this in the past, and I agree with it. It sounds like you are on the path to true mindfulness, at least from what I remember of what I have read. But I was never able to get there myself.
Keep at it. Positivity is always worth it. There is too much negativity in the world today.
JD
I agree with you - positivity is always worth it!
And I don't think you need to be doing yoga or daily meditation to achieve things. just let go of an 'I don't know how to... I can't' attitude' and you'll be halfway there.
Best wishes,
Isabella
For sure. The world is so full of negative thinking and negative doing. It feels like a single person cannot do enough. But in my view, if enough individuals can start working together we can make a difference! Have that "I can" mindset instead of "I can't" will help!
Karin๐
Agreed. The yoga is more for my own practices. It is difficult but I know if I can reach inner peace, it will have proved worthwhile! I am letting go of the "I can't" and "I don't know how to" attitudes because they have held me back for so long!
Have a great weekend!
Karin๐
If enough do good, I hope the others will see that good can be done and they will jump in and help, too!
Karin๐
HI, Karin.
Look for an old book called The Isaiah Effect. It is based on the scroll of Isaiah. It discusses how people working together can bring about change. We are not talking about physically working together.
JD
Thank you for sharing about that book. I am searching it now.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Karin,
Thank you for the reminder of how important self-love is. This is one of our core businesses, we help people focus on self-love, self-improvement, etc. Have you been studying Reiki?
I have been studying Kundalini. I am not sure, but I think they are similar dealing with energies.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Karin,
Sorry for the delay, but we have been swamped! Thank you, have a great week too!
