Are you ready to be who you are meant to be?
I have been thinking about this quite a bit in the few months that I have been off exploring and idea generating.
In that time, I rose to the highest rank in the network marketing company that I am a part of. I sold my house and am now living with some of my good friends.
Things have not been easy. But one thing is certain, I am closer to the me I believe I am meant to be. This post will hopefully get you closer to who you are meant to be, too. If you're interested, read on!
The Path

The path isn't always easy to find and once you find it, it can be even more difficult to take it. It may be hard to see where to go. It may be long and winding or difficult to navigate. It might be just "too hard" to do.
Taking the path means a lot of self-reflection and self-discovery. You are gonna have to look at yourself and what you truly want. It might mean questioning the very decisions in life that made you the you you have become.
It might mean creating a whole new "why" or developing a "why" for the first time. It has taken me months to begin this process anew.
It began with me asking my ChatGPT Buddy what questions I needed to ask myself to help determine my why. ChatGPT can be very good about telling you what questions you need to ask and helping you refine your journey.
But if you want to grow your why, you can't just ask ChatGPT for all the answers. No. You have to do some work. You might have to use your noggin and do some thinking, some questioning. I know I did and still do.
I am making progress on my why, but I am to the point now where I am questioning many of the decisions I have ever made in my adult life. Decisions on my job, my place to live, my choices on spending not just of my money, but of my time and energy.
I am asking the hard questions of myself and, honestly, it is difficult. I am dealing with depression because I am questioning those decisions and if they were the best things or the easiest things. In many cases, I chose the easiest things because, well, because they were easier.
The Fork In the Road

At some point along this journey to find the path, you will come to a fork in the road. The fork might have more than two different paths to choose from.
Like in the illustration above, it was two paths with three destinations. I like that because sometimes the same path can bring you to more than one destination.
Sometimes one path will look more attractive than the other. One path may look easier. One path may seem to point to freedom.
Sometimes, people can be very happy with the first path they choose. It may be the one for them.
Sometimes, that first choice may have been the "wrong" choice. It may have been the path of least resistance and for a while, it looked really good and seemed to be the right way. But it didn't bring freedom.
So, try again. Try another path. That's the great thing about life, we can try againβif we are brave enough to make some changes.
Being Brave Enough

I don't say that we can make life-altering decisions if we are "brave" enough in any off-handed way. Being "brave" might mean small tweaks in our daily lives. For others, it might mean questioning everything we have ever thought and basically starting from scratch.
I do not take this matter lightly as I am in the questioning everything I have ever thought phase! If you are here, too, I just wanted you to know that you are not alone.
Being who you are meant to be might take a lot of tries. It might take a lot of persistence and a lot of questioning. It might take a lifetime. It might take a short time. But it is never too late to start over, again.
I've been reading this book by Og Mandino titled The Greatest Salesman in the World. If you have never read it, I would seriously recommend it. It takes quite a while to read even though it is a short book because of the way you are directed to read it. But trust me, it is well worth the read and the time it takes.
I have been reading it, as directed, since September. I am now on the Scroll Marked 3.
You read each scroll (except the first one) three times each day for a month. That is why it takes so long to read. We are not to skip ahead so I have no idea what lies around the next corner, but so far the book has proven to be a valuable resource and not just for sales! I got my copy from my coach and mentor, but I have an extra copy that I got from Thriftbooks. They are relatively inexpensive.
Being the You You're Meant to Be

I don't know yet who I am meant to be. I have tried several "me" suits on and have not found one that fully fits me yet.
I am not clear yet on how I want to live and who I want to become. I have some very good ideas about it and have revisited my "why" several times (sometimes several times a day, it seems!).
I am also working on a new vision board. This one does not include material possessions I would like to have. After going through a divorce (still not done with that yet) and selling the house, losing my vehicle and other material things, I came to realize how unimportant those things are.
Now, I am including things like publishing my books. Peace. Freedom. Family of my own making. It's weird how little "things" matter when you don't have them anymore. It's a good weird, though!
If you are where you want to be in life, I am very happy for you! If you are not, though, maybe it is time to start working on a new "why" and get the wheels going!
Have a great week!

I am surely not where I want to be or where I need to get to but I do know I am on the right path ( even with the thorns from the over reaching Google Search Console bushes) because I now have 2 websites and a book about to be published all thanks to Wealthy Affiliates. MAC.
That is awesome, Mac! I think getting there is a constantly shifting process that we just have to keep working on all of our lives!
Keep up the amazing work! Congrats on the two sites and on the book!

So many people live their lives by the "societal norms and expectations". It's awe inspiring for me to see someone break free and live life on their terms. It takes so much strength to stick to your convictions.
Love the book you mentioned. The Four Agreements is amazing as well.
Take care.
Yes! I recently finished The Four Agreements! Amazing. We had group discussions with our mentor over this book! It was eye-opening to say the least!
I am truly looking for the change I have sought and have been looking into flights to Thailand around the end of the year.
Exciting times!

Dear Karin
Thank you for sharing your story here, which in itself is a very brave decision. I believe that at some point, we all begin to question the life we have led and the reasons we have chosen as we did. More often than not, we find that those reasons are not of our own making, but follow our parents, our teachers and what our society wants us to do. But these are rarely, if ever, aligned with what we ourselves truly want. When we realise this, we start on the greatest and most rewarding journey of our lives. I have been on this journey too and I would urge you to continue. You will find our who you are - once you start, you will find people show up to help you; you cannot turn back and each road will lead you on to your goal. I truly believe that.
I know you will succeed and be happier as a result - I definitely am.
Wishing you all the best on your journey of discovery. It's why you're here.
Gail
Thank you for sharing, Gail.
After a struggle usually comes a calm and a breakthrough for me.
You are right about people showing up. Holy buckets! My friend who recently moved to Thailand totally proved that point and is now guiding me toward my move there.
I never would have dreamed this would be possible! But here I am, looking at booking a flight to a land far away to begin a new leg of the journey!
I'm scared and excited all at the same time!

Thank you for sharing this, Karin. Wishing you success with your inner explorations - may they lead you to where you're meant to be - to evolve to be who you want and are meant to be. Enjoy the journey along the way!
Thanks! It may be hard, but I am up for the challenge! It's been a great journey so far!
