4000 Mondays

I recently subscribed to newsletter called "4000 Mondays."

4000 Mondays is about the average lifespan of a human. We have 4000 Mondays in which to do everything we were put on the earth to do.

When you think about it like that it doesn't seem nearly long enough. That is only about 77 years. That just doesn't seem long enough.

if I only have 4000 Mondays all together—if you only have 4000 Mondays—then we don't have a moment to waste.

If I figured it correctly, by this average, I only have a little over 1000 Mondays left! In perspective, that is almost 20 years, but thinking of it in terms of Mondays—well, quite honestly, it scares me.

On the other hand, I think of all that can be accomplished in my remaining 1000 Mondays.

The newsletter this week was about procrastinating our life away.

I procrastinated much of my first 3000 Mondays and I can't really afford to procrastinate through the rest of them!

I won't beat myself up over what has already happened. But now, given the knowledge I have been imparted, I think I will not waste these next 1000 Mondays by whining about this or that. I will spend those 1000 Mondays doing what I love—writing, helping others, loving my grandchildren!

I will spend each of those 1000 Mondays counting the many blessings that have been bestowed upon me most of which I really do not deserve.

I will be grateful for the many things I don't have.

I will spend those 1000 Mondays wisely—knowing that there are no guarantees that I will have those 1000 Mondays.

How will you spend your remaining Mondays?

Karin 😎

Hi Karin,

Your post is just a realistic nature of our fallible human nature.

Scary, however, it's just the reality. Once this dawns well on us, we'll realize that ''all is vanity''!

Since we are not here on earth by accident, our sojourn and whatever we think we have become or not in this world of ours is not meant for us alone, but to serve humanity and that person next to us.

However, it does not mean we must not strive and be ambitious (like we are all doing here on WA, our private and business lives), but we must not lose focus and forget that after all, is said and done, there is an expiry date to everything; it's like a vapor that appears for a short while and vanishes.

Then what happens after, when it remains only you down below and the positive or negative impact you have made in the lives of family, friends, and others as a proof of your existence and legacy while alive?

There shouldn't be a problem with anyone's belief, nor should anyone force his/her belief down the throat of others, but there are things that would happen, either we are believers in something or the other, free thinkers or atheists—4000-6000 Mondays are inevitable for us all.

Nevertheless, we must not allow this to weigh us down.

We must live and enjoy our lives to the fullest while embracing the fact of and using the concept of 4000-6000 Mondays as a reflection and cardinal point to live our lives now, building a legacy and making positive impacts in the lives of others in preparation for that time when all will expire—as it does in the life of every living organism.

Thanks, Karin, for sharing this reflective, realistic and thought-provoking piece.

Peace.

I 100% agree with you. I like the idea of 20 years vs. 4000 Mondays. But 4000 Mondays does make it sink in that we have an "expiration date."

I hope to skid across the finish line with a huge smile on my face exclaiming, "Wow! What a ride!"

So I've got 2,444 Mondays left until I'm 80 years old, I'm 33 now. Looking at the fiqured it really doesn't seem like a lot at all, Scary!!

I think that is the point. If we see how much (average) time we have, we will realize the value of time and make the most of it. So let's make this world a better place and make the most of our time!

Karin 😎

Based on this calculation, I have far less than 2,000 Mondays left. I better make the most of them, and I aim to!

Make the most of them! That is fully my intention, too!

I see what you mean, Karin! Sometimes I don't like to procrastinate either, especially when I have a lot of things to worry about but I do see what you mean.

I know you have what it takes to make it through the Mondays. :)

Myra ♥️

Oh yes! I am making the most of the Mondays I have. And all the days in between, too!

Hi Karin

Don’t let it bother you.

I’ve always mixed work with fun and still accomplished quite a bit in my life.

Balance in all things is essential.

At 70 years old, if I only have an average of seven years left, I intend to make them fun ones! Lol 😎

Balance and consistency!

The book I published earlier this year is all about finding balance between work and life.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Frank! Rock n Roll will keep you young forever!

Karin

Haha, thanks, Karin! 😎

Enjoy every minute of them Frank!

Haha, that's the plan, Kyle! 😃

Thanks for commenting!
