Gone From This World but Not From our Hearts
*The header image is of Balmoral Castle, Scotland, where the Queen spent her final days.
Today is a very sad day, for Britain and indeed the whole world. Our Queen has passed away and we will never be the same.
I never had the honour of meeting this special lady, but she was a constant presence in my life. I would see her on the news, visiting different countries, always dressed in pretty pastel colours, with matching hat and bag of course! Smiling graciously at the crowd who had come to cheer for her, waving to them and getting even louder cheers. She accepted bouquets of flowers from young children, always with a smile and a kind word for these youngsters.
The Queen loved dogs, her Corgis were her passion. She was also an accomplished horsewoman and was able to ride well into old age. The Queen loved people, but animals held a special place in her heart. I can relate to that.
I don't think the Queen ever recovered from the death of her beloved husband, Prince Philip. After he passed away, her health declined and she seemed to grow into a frail old lady almost overnight. But they were married for over 70 years and were rarely apart. Without his loyal presence, the Queen must've felt as if she had been cast adrift. We all felt for her.
Charles has some very big shoes to fill, no one can ever replace his mother and he must be feeling some trepidation at his coming role as King Charles lll. I hope that he can take comfort in the knowledge that his mother will be watching over him, no doubt arm in arm with Prince Philip as they smile proudly at their eldest son.
And as a nation, we are comforted knowing that the people of the commonwealth share our grief at the loss of this amazing woman. Our backbone, our inspiration, our beloved Queen. May she rest in peace. God bless you, ma'am.

This is a very heartfelt post! Even though I have never lived in the UK, or even been there, I remember growing up seeing her a lot on the news, so it feels like a small part of my life is gone now too! She provided a sense of stability in this mad new world that will be sorely missed, Karen!
Jeff🙏
She was a part of all our lives, wherever we lived in the world. It won’t be the same without her and there are a lot of people feeling very sad today I’m sure
I am sure too, Karen! With all the turmoil going on in the world now, the Queen represented some sort of stability to what we once knew!
Yes she did, she was like the anchor on a storm-tossed ship. Now we have to sail on without this trusted anchor and weathering the storms of life will be that much harder
You're very welcome, Karen! Happy Frisatsu, even though with the Queen's passing will put a bit of a dmaper on things for a while, my friend!
Jeff
What a beautiful tribute, Karen. Life will not be the same without our majestic Queen. RIP ERII.
She was such a presence in all our lives, a unique and beautiful woman. I can’t believe that she’s no longer with us
I have been in deep admiration of your Queen. I have had the privilege to visit your country more than once. I have been a royal follower even when I was in my age of innocence. In my heart and mind, they are my fairy tale come true!
The world will never be the same without her. 🥲
That’s the thing, people all over the world will be grieving for the loss of this amazing lady. We can take comfort from the love that we felt for her and give thanks for the many years that she was with us

Excellent Karen.
Your words show us the love and respect you have for your great queen. No doubt we will hear beautiful tributes like this from around the world. Yes she was a great lady.
As an aside, I actually saw your queen from a few feet away when I was 6 years old. I never forgot that.
Rest in peace for a job well done, Queen Elizabeth the second. England has my deep sympathy.
Corinne
Thanks Corinne, lucky you actually seeing the Queen in real life! Yes, she was much loved and we will miss her very much. I feel sad but I’m grateful that we had her to lead us for such a long time.
I expected her to last until her 100th birthday, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be. The commonwealth is grieving and we all feel that life won’t be the same without her.
A quote from one of our daily newspapers: she has taken us this far and now it is time for our monarch to step down and rest, knowing that we are strong enough to continue the journey without her. Very poignant
