Free Pictures - A Guaranteed Method

Last Update: January 22, 2017

Trying to find free pictures can be a headache.

I myself struggled in the beginning of building my first website with finding free pictures in my chosen niche. Actually, I had a hard time finding ANY pictures online that I could use on my site without worry.

You see, I don't want to be sued by some Jack or Jane for accidentally using pictures of theirs, while thinking I'm safe to use them. Scary stuff, lawsuits.

One method that caught my attention when going through the training, is when Kyle mentioned taking your own pictures. I thought, "I have a smart phone with a camera and editing capabilities, why not?"

I went to work with taking my own pictures (of which might be a training I do when I feel adept at teaching what I've taught myself) and editing them with my smartphone. (I-phone 6 plus, but any smartphone should work)

Slow moving at first, but with practice it has become a quick and easy task to do. I even find myself having quite a bit of fun with it. I try different angles and lighting, as well as background and positioning of props etc. It has become enjoyable to take and edit my own pictures for my page.

So what if you can't exactly take your own pictures within your own niche quite yet?

I have a fairly reasonable solution for that as well. I too didn't have a lot of material to start out with in taking my own photos. Turns out that all I had to do is reach out and ask a few people I know that are professionals within the same niche, and they were willing to give me pictures to work with.

Do you know someone within your niche that might be willing to take pictures for you? I would bet that you do. Facebook can be a tool for finding those people if you don't have them on the top of your head.

I hope this information helps others within this community that have run in to similar obstacles with finding free photos within their chosen niche.

Thanks for posting. I know that my site suffers for it, but I have been avoiding images like the plague. At one point, when I had finally decided to start using them, I happened to log in here just in time to see a discussion in live chat about someone losing their site due to accidentally using a photo they didn't have rights to.

I'm still paranoid, but I may get around to using some images. I actually have considered taking my own pictures, so who knows.

It's something that scares me slightly, finding and using pictures. I wanted my site to be fairly visually aided, so taking my own pictures seemed like a good compromise.

Glad you enjoyed the blog post. Thanks for your comment.

Good info. Thanks! Like I said, there aren't many options out there for my niche, and taking my own pictures brings me more satisfaction in the end. It took a little time at first, but now it's quick and easy for me.

I do appreciate any extra tools and assistance offered, though, so thanks again for adding these links. I'm sure they will help many.

Out of all the links you posted, which is your favorite "go to" site? I am looking for photos for a new site I'm working on in the WA related niche. Thanks!
