I am just wondering if you keep your personal Facebook/ twitter etc separate from your internet marketing online presence?
If you don't separate them do you ever get frien
I just don't put anything out there that I wouldn't be happy for my friends and family to see. They love cheering me on and reading my blog. I only blog once a week though! :-)
Also a good point, I wouldn't be putting anything out there that I wouldn't use/read/buy myself
you can create lists in facebook that you can deliver certain content to. I un-follow so many of my friends because of their food/rants/useless posts because i see it as pointless spam lol.
I am sure that if people don't like to see me doing business online, trying to make a better life for my family and I then they know where the un-follow button is.

I use G+ rather than FB to promote although if it's something many would like, I'd do it on FB.

How do you deal with the negative people in your life that believe Internet Marketing is a load of rubbish/ waste of time/ scam etc.
Sometimes avoiding these people is not
This happens for a lot of people. In my opinion, the best thing that you can do is tell them when you see the negative stuff starting up,"Listen,I don't mean to be rude, but I am not strong enough to deal with any negativity right now.I'm working on something that is very important to me,that one day we will all benefit from."
You can also let them know, when the "stuff" starts happening,"Forgive me but,I'm in the office right now working.(you may be home on your computer working on your business)Is it possible we can talk about your issue later when I'm off?"
Get them use to knowing "when you are in the office" I had to do this a lot with my spouse in the beginning. Now she catches herself! LOL
You have gotten some incredible encouragement, keep smiling and know that one day they will believe in you and all that you have accomplished!
Hi Zenobia
How are things going?
I get that all the time from the people around me. I have found that people fear what they don't know or understand.
They also are uncomfortable when someone steps out of the box that they have put them in, or show signs that they are unwilling to stay the same, that they are prepared to grow.
My best suggestion is - decide what YOU want to achieve - then go for it - Understand that you may not get a lot of support (especially from those who you most want it from)
But guess what - when you are a success - they will all be running after you.
Stay strong

Hi Paul
I am good thanks and you?
You're right, most people fear change, and they want people to stay where they are in life and not progress.
Carrying on regardless can only be character building, and the achievements will feel even sweeter.
And I don't doubt that the biggest critics will be the ones that will come running first!

It's hard for them to believe because they don't understand how this all works OR they have seen too many scams and sometimes it IS hard to believe this isn't. It's tough when it's a spouse. If this is something you believe in, tell him that. He doesn't have to believe just be supportive of something you enjoy.
This is also true, there was a time when I didn't believe, but I always has a feeling that there must be away, nownI've found something that will work, that's why it's taken me so long to get started!
This is a tricky one but BeauandNik has it down, ask him to repect your dreams as you would respect his. :)
You politely let them know this is now your job and lifetime goal just the same as when yo took on you first job, first spouse , first friend, first time you walked first time you went to school, and etc, etc.
But the same goes for them in reverse

If he's open to it, why not share the process of how making money online is done? You can also explain that it's something you really want to do and that it's better to try than not try at all, or have regrets from not trying.
If he does not buy into it, then just ask him to respect the fact that it's something you want to do and introduce him to a few success stories.
Hope this was helpful.
Because of his reaction I have maybe been a bit too defensive, it wouldn't hurt for me to show him in more detail what I am doing. I think he thinks I am secretly spending thousands of pounds on some sort of online get rich quick scheme that will leave me in debt or something lol
He's very skeptical so the success stories aren't likely to change his mind (he will just think they are online propaganda - like so many are!) unless I can demonstrate to him the opportunity is real :-)
Lol. Okay, so in addition to showing him what you are doing, you should definitely reassure him that you're not spending thousands and that it's a much smaller investment that you are making in yourself.
What about letting him know that you would value his input concerning your website and ideas for articles for your chosen niche?
I bought a pair of ear plugs, a buck at the dollar store. Then I would just put them in whenever anyone would start to discredit what I was doing. Of course that all went away when I started receiving bank deposits in the 1 to 2 K a month area, lol
Haha I like you're style! I've actually got some ear plugs if he keeps nagging I might try that one :-)
Hello, I had that problem with my wife, but when first gift card from one survey company has arrived in our post box she realized that there are companies which are not scams. Just be patient. Dean
I suppose there are a lot of scams, more scams than genuine opportunities. I am sure he will change his mind when the ££ starts coming in!
Yes, there are a lot of scams, but we are lucky that are on the right place in right time, with right people. So, I wish you a lot of success and waiting that you share your sale milestones with us. :-)
ask for him to respect your dream to make this work. if he cant be supportive then he better start soon!
if people try giving you advice on what you should be doing first ask yourself if they even qualify to give you advice on the topic.
I wouldnt take dental advice from a mechanic.....
I think you have hit the nail on the head! Lots of people want to give advice when they are in no position to do so. I've decided I want to follow this through so I will. He will learn to deal with it one way or another!
