Happy Thanksgiving Eve Y'all!
Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! I realize we're all from different parts of the world, but here, in the USA, we celebrate this day to give thanks for everything we're grateful for in our lives.
We'll have a feast and family time and add a few friends in the mix and have a wonderful day! My household consists of my granddaughter, Lacy (soon to be 24), her husband, Robert (28) and their two kids, Preston (4) and Sophia (14 mos) and my disabled son, Sam (38). Sam has brain cancer and it causes seizures that won't allow him to work.
My mom is 83 and has my younger brother, as her caretaker, living with her. They want us out there around 3 tomorrow to have dinner with them. My brother cooks, but nothing like I do! Besides, we want leftovers for a week to eat! They'll get to play with the kids and visit and I'll get to play her piano and serenade them. It's going to be a great time!
I took today off from my job so I can cook all day. Everything on this day is made from scratch. My signature dishes are chicken and dumplings and candied sweet potatoes. Oh! And my pumpkin pie is to die for! I have to make one for Sam and one for Robert or they'll fight over it! If Lacy and I want any I'll have to make three.
I love cooking a big meal for the holidays for people who enjoy my cooking. I used to host every major holiday meal when I was married and cooked for 35 people. There wasn't much left as far as leftovers go.
This year I'm thankful for so very much! I'm thankful I have my family around me to love, and who show me love. I'm very thankful that my wreck with a semi didn't cause any major injuries last month! I'm so very thankful for the community I've found in Wealthy Affiliates!!! This platform has given me a renewed sense of myself and a direction in my life that I really needed right now. I can't thank Kyle and Carson enough for their "brain child" and their dedication to making this all work for all of us! I'm thankful that God pointed me in several directions, I didn't see coming, that is answering a lot of heartfelt prayers for me and my family! I'm thankful that God thinks I'm worthy enough to receive His gifts!!!
My heart is about to explode with love while writing this! There is so much more I'm thankful for, but, you get the highlights. You people are who I aspire to surround myself with on a daily basis because of your help and support you show to, not only me, but everyone!
I hope everyone who celebrates this day, has the most wonderful, loving and safe day ever! We shouldn't show thanks just one day a year, but every day, all year long. Every day we wake up is a gift. Take time to unwrap it slowly and savor the little gifts inside.

This is such a heartwarming post, Julie! It makes me realize everything that I am missing about Thanksgiving with famly. Since I have been separated, I haven't been with them for at least the last two. Thank Goodness for good friends though, since I have been able to be with them and they are like family to me too since I have known them for 35 years!
I have a lot to be thankful for too!
Have a very enjoyable Thanksgiving, as I know that you will, and thank you for the wonderful share which stirred up GREAT memories for me, as well!

@JeffreyBrown we're picking up a girl who works with us that doesn't have family here either. If I can ever help, I will. That's what God put us here for!

Hello Julie,
Yes, indeed you are correct.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful celebratory weekend!
@Brandalay I've been cooking all day and I'm down to my pies. The turkey goes in the oven overnight on low temp. I've never had a dry one doing it that way.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
