I am not a Writer

Here I am trying to create content for my website; stuck, brain freeze, no motor, reflexes gone, zilch, blank.

Why is this even possible?

1. I am an Accountant by profession, I crunch numbers, give me a damn descripancy, I will balance it,no explanation needed.

2. I am a reader, my kindle has over 500 books all read and some re-read, if I find an article that interests me I don't care how long it is, I read it from top to bottom; does this even make sense.

Now I got my self a muse; a pocket notebook with a teeny tiny pen that I carry with everywhere; toilet, kitchen, dinner table, bed so that when the juices start flowing I can be able to capture them immediately.

To my fellow WA community, please bare with me because even when I try to encourage or comment or your posts I can only manage a few words.

Yeah, that's me in a nutshell "the reader who can't write"

I hope now you have very good in writing i think the way you have arranged that article shows you are Damm good at it

Hi Judy,
I am not a writer but like you I am a reader and a list maker. Use those to your advantage and research your topic. Write down points you would like to make ( in your own words).
I use Jay's method. It is much easier to focus on 1 idea than a 500 word article.
I found Kyle training of help: If you are still frustrated save and walk away for a bit. Soon you will have new ideas.

Hi Judy,

You say you're not a writer (and you don't have to be) but you just wrote and article here explaining why you're not a writer.

Anyone can write. We do it everyday.

We write:

- articles explaining why we're not a writer
- emails
- comments
- facebook posts
- letters to friends
- text messages
- questions with details explaining a problem
- Kindle book reviews

Writing isn't hard. If you can talk all day about something that you're passionate about then you can write about your passion online.

You just need to layout your article before you actually sit down to write about it.

If I was laying out an article about "I Am Not a Writer" and I wanted to make it longer than this I'd do this:

------------------------------
Title: I Am Not a Writer

Intro: Why I'm writing this article (talk about sitting here trying to create content and having brain freeze)

Problem: I'm an accountant - try extending this for about 100 words

Problem 2: I'm a reader - Another 100 words

Problem 3: Is there another problem (not knowing the subject that well maybe)

How I think I can deal with this - Maybe a pocket book or something

How I think I can deal with this 2: Maybe research the topic more or choose another niche that I'm more passionate or knowledgeable about

Conclusion: Reaching out for help (extend this to 100 words).
-------------------------------------

I'm sure if you take each part of the layout and write about them independently, you can easily have an 800 word article about why you're not a writer. (This is just an example, your article above is fine and all you needed to say. I found myself "reaching" just to make this layout.)

Anyway, I started out just the same not feeling much like a writer either and went from writing bare bones 200 word articles to writing 2000 word articles that rank on Google's first page.

The key is to keep trying, write something every day - practice gets you there. You're not trying to be the next (insert your favorite novel writer here). Rather you're just trying to connect with people who need your help.

I have faith that if you keep practicing that you will get there and mostly because you wrote an entire article about why you're not a writer.

Hi Jay, thank you very much for taking your time to reach out to me, I am going to follow your advice, looks really easy the way you've put it.

I'm like ibmountain, the technical is my challenge. I'm a writer so it is a bit easier. You got some good advice here. When you sit down to write, just write what comes out, don't worry if it makes sense or not, get the thoughts down. You will surprise yourself with what you can come up with. The editing comes later. :)

Thanks Judy-B, for this sound advice, appreciated, this place is awesome and I'm loving it more everyday.

I am fine with writing but the technical stuff is a challenge. We will both get better : )

Start with 300 words a day...I got stuck a lot and still working on my site unpublished in site rubix. My first 300 words were ....blah, blah blah. I know this is funny but I had to start somewhere. If you read a lot your vocabulary should be quite wide. Just do it. If you get to frustrated walk away...take a break...do something you really like and come back refreshed.

Dear Judytee,
Writing is like anything. You just need to practice. Write and don't worry in the first draft if everything is correct. Just write it! Then go back and correct. If you keep writing all the time it will get easier. Your notebook idea is brilliant! Shelia

Hi Sheila, Thanks a lot, I appreciate your contribution to my success.

I think that a better research online will do the job :)
I mean, try to do a deep research on what you wanna write even if it'll take you tree days only gathering information...
At least i do it like this.
And everytime i need to write a new post firstly i think of a good and captivating title. First only the title-dont focus on how and what you will write.. Only the title.
From there i build a "body" from the title.. To the secondary smaller one.. 3-4 titels that are based of course on the ideas. From there i fill in under those titeles i've created..some ideas one to two ideas related to the title.. And in the end the conclusion which is the most easy part.

After all that i start to fill the up with content - title after title and finished up with a good post related to my niche :)
And the last thing : then i add some relevant images.

Hi Alexey, thanks a lot for the advice, will keep it in mind as I go on. Your support is appreciated .
