The Power of Google Plus
I am a newbie here at Wealthy Affiliates. My website has been up for about a month and a half and I am slowly plodding my way through the trainings as I build out the content on my site.
A couple of weeks ago I participated in a live Friday evening training offered by Jay concerning the importance of Google+ to a site's ranking. It was an awesome training (thanks Jay)!
I already had a Google+ account but had not really been working it at all as I did not understand it or its importance. So, after the training I immediately went into my g+ account and started working it in the way that Jay recommended.
A few days ago as I was working on a new post for my website, I got the brilliant idea to check out one of my keywords to see if my site showed up in a google search. I did not expect much since my site is so young and I know that it takes a bit of time for google's spiders to find new sites and rank them.
I entered "draw a big flower" in the search box. To my delight, my website showed up in the middle of the first page! "Wow" I thought," how did that happen?"
Guess what? The link that showed up was to my post on my google+ account about that art project on my website. Of course if anyone were to click that link they would get directed to my google+ post. Once there here they could click on through to my website.
With this example you can see the power of low competition keywords and google+. How great is that - a very young website showing up on the first page of a google search!!

HI John Miguel, Jay's trainings are amazing. You can find them on the WA site but I still get a little lost here. Maybe someone else would be able to direct you to where to find the live trainings.
