Simplifying one's life while still working

Affiliate Marketing caught my attention in the past year while I was taking a number of Social Media Courses. The lifestyle and the monetary possibilities held a lot of appeal.

I had been running my own business for 28 years where there was a lot of buying, selling, strategizing, employee management, adjusting to technological changes and all the other issues entailed in commerce. I want to continue working but in a manner where I can simplify my life. Stress can and has taken its toll and I fully realize that life is short and some things are just not worth it.

My introduction to Social Media was a complete eye opener

Social media amazed me; it was like a whole other planet of information - a new frontier of sorts. Boomers use technology but I believe it is the younger generations who really have a handle on the possibilities of the internet.

Amazon selling was one of the many courses I invested in but but decided to focus on Affiliate Marketing. One of the pleasant surprises for me was composing posts and the research I have to undertake before I write.

I graduated with a BA in English Lit sometime ago but got into business almost right away. Jobs in the creative field were difficult to find and I did not want to teach or go into law. So being in a position where I now have to create content is pleasurable and I am enjoying working with words again as well as learning all about the niche I have chosen which is aging and all that comes with it.

You do need a guide to become successful

You absolutely do need a guide in what for many of us is a new frontier and I believe WA is probably one of the best. Not only do you have them as a guide but you are in the company of many on the same journey, some just starting out and others further down the trail who willingly assist the beginners.

I have to admit I do struggle with WordPress but am impressed with many of the sites created here by people just like me. So I am now constructing a webpage with the help of the WA template method, have posted a few pages, figured out (somewhat) how to include images, know that keywords are critical, how to determine which keywords are best and why - and can now look forward to learning about how to bring it all together so that I can eventually live the "laptop lifestyle."
