Upward and Onward Without Google Adsense!
Well, I've finally moved up from the phase of training with affiliate links and ads. I was so bummed out this morning when I found that I had been turned down by Google Adsense. Was it because I had a link to YouTube? Maybe not enough content? Is the navigation not clear enough?
I only started last month. I think I am at 23 posts but I should have 30 or more. (Heart attack {alleged} put me in the hospital and took me out of commission for a few days.) Turns out it might have been nothing but I am still cautious.
Ready to Put Google Ads on my Pages
Or that was the plan. I applied for Google Adsense and waited breathlessly for the reply. This morning it came and I was dumb-founded. Unfortunately, they don't really tell you what you did wrong only some nebulous, letter which has links to all kinds of rules and restrictions and they tell you that you have broken at least one of these.
Good luck finding out what it is though because apparently they don't think we rank high enough for an answer from them. So, I started to scrub all of my pages for things that I might have done wrong.
I Turned To My Most Trusted Source
Suddenly, I had an idea. Surely someone at WA has had something like this happen to them. I was not disappointed! I was thrilled to find that there were many people here offering advice on how to fix it and then some who said that I didn't even need to have Google Adsense to be successful.
I've looked at a few sites like Infolinks that came from a training right here on Wealthy Affiliates. I'm in the process of getting things finalized right now.
Best of All I've Moved on with my Training
So now I'm ready to learn all I can about social media. I actually work in SEO so the first parts of training went fast for me. I'm writing about my last job which I did for 20 years so I already know my customers. I was one when I was teaching. I'm just trying to provide them what they want.
Now for traffic! I got some incredible day when I had a 53 visit spike but I know that I need to reach my former colleagues and future customers. And so on to Social Media and how to conquer it.
I'll put a link to the awesome training that was provided for those who have run into the Google Adsense thing themselves.

Big G is spoiled for choices by people like us... who create the properties which they are monetizing on. Therefore, they now look for properties that meet their higher threshold of rental they can make, i.e advertising. So, if your site is new, not enough content, low traffic. It does not check all the boxes in their approval checklist or bot. There are other income opportunities as you discovered. Maybe work on those and come back to Adsense later.
You hit the nail on the head. I just started but my own impatience at the slow growth of my pages probably made me reach out to Google before the time is right. I'm looking for social media boosts, especially with my old colleagues who are still in the teaching business for my next big goal.
All the best

Thanks for posting this commentary as I had decided not to put adsense on my website at the moment. I don't have enough content and apparently they choose what they advertise on your site. I don't think I like that idea.
I will revisit adsense down the track.
Wishing you lots of success.

I figured since I found out I’m not the only one, I’d pass the word on to others. Good luck and as Mark says they might make your site look like a billboard. I’m looking at some of the alternatives in that training I hyperlinked above.

Don't sweat it. You can re-apply. I had it and it made my site look like a billboard. I canceled it immediately and it really pays only pennies. I call it Google Nonsense.
Making a living, making a difference.

The ads on your site detract from your content and links anyway. Many including Jay at Magistudios advise against using Google Adsense.

I know I'll have to catch-up on all the training I've missed with Jay. I've only seen a few of the training sessions and they are really packed with all kinds of extra tidbits of information. Unfortunately, I always miss the last part of the sessions because I have to put the little one to bed.
All the best,
Jim
