Making a mistake?

My latest post here was August 2018, what happen to me??

I really need some clarity on something. Should I continue after being doing this for 2 years?

No success yet, but I'm sure it's my own fault. I got my website going, but not profit ready, still going through the lessons and finding hard to move further with it at times. I signed up with Amazon while back for them to let me go cause I couldn't get enough traffic. I feel sorta overwhelmed and frustrated. I want to do one thing at a time but I feel when I sign on I'm reading other information instead of what I should be doing, and sometimes not sure what to do first since I only have so much time. The frustration is getting the best of me. I need some insight if I should just let this go or work harder for another year

Here are a few reasons why I feel like I want to let this go.

  • I know I'm not making an excuse but I can't seem to get the motivation or the time to work on this.
  • I would rather be doing something that I am better at like acrylic painting and karaoke as my outlet from work and everyday life.
  • I feel that I can't devote enough time to make this happen for me.
  • This might just not be for me.
  • Procrastination gets the best of me.

Before the end of June I am coming up for my yearly renewal and wondering if I should try it for one more year and see what happens and then make the decision.

OR

I ask is this for me or just another thing I got involved with for it to be another failure of mine?

Would really love some insight on what other people have experienced and how they felt as they were going through the process to where they are now...

I think you need to decide what you really want. What was your goal when you got into WA? If your goal does not move you to want to do the necessary work, perhaps you have the wrong goal. When you set a goal, it needs to fire your passion. Sounds like you really aren't excited about your goal.

Your attitude needs to be based on "I can" not on "I can't." Perhaps you are right, and you really don't want to be doing this. No one can make you want it. It has to be a desire inside you.

I have been convinced since Day 1 that this was the place I wanted to be. However, I'm pretty clear on what I want. Before you make a decision think it through and decide if you are going in the right direction. If so, renew. If not, perhaps you'd be better off finding something that really motivates you.

When I first started I was gung ho but over time it got pushed to the side and was no longer important to me. I guess it is because I had other things that became more important. The more I get myself engrossed in the website and learning more, the more I do want to continue with this.
I never really had goals when I stayed this, I gather this is something I really need to write down and follow it and make it a priority.

Thanks for your advice, it really helps!

That is how I was...the more I learned, the more I wanted to learn.
I think if you can come up with a goal that gets you really excited, you will be far better equipped to continue.

I truly believe that. I need to stay focused on this and be excited to learn every day or every other day and apply what I learned that I feel I will get more motivated.
I think my goal is to get through the rest of the course by the end of this year and continue to build, build, build!

I am sorry to hear your thinking of leaving Joyce. I have just returned to WA after a 6 month hiatus.

    What made me come back?

I have been working on a couple of sites that have nothing to do with blogging and I feel I have got them to a reasonable standard, and so I now have more time on my hands.

Yes my ranking in WA slipped but I now have a renewed spirit and want to get on with what I had started.

Will I keep going when my annual renewal comes up? Yes I will.

I have never found a community like we have here at WA either on or off the internet. There is so much information available for everyone, and everyone is willing to help everyone else.

You must make the final decision, but if you can't get motivated then you shouldn't stay.

You say you have other interests such as acrylic painting and karaoke so why not write about these?

I wish you success in whatever you choose to do, but I am sure you could put your past training to good use if you were to choose something you are really interested in.

Hi Derek, Thank you for your input it really makes a difference to know that people are very helpful here in the community. And your right there is so much information here and how it can make anybody successful. I just need to put the work in and suck it up, then my reward will eventually come. I have learned a lot through wealthy affiliate, and part of me feels that if I do let this go then I'll be kick myself in the butt. My niche is about singing and my website needs more work and more information to be added. I believe the motivation will come if I continue to work and learn more about it..
Thank you for your response, makes me feel better..

    Much success!

We are all here to help you Joyce and anyone else who needs that help.

    Derek

I appreciate you guys!! Thanks again!!

Aww, Joyce, this is such a tough decision for you, I am sure. I can tell you it is OK to quit, or I can say to you that WA is an incredible place to be. But when it comes down to it, the decision ultimately has to be yours.

I do have a question for you.

If I told you that you need to continue with WA, would that change everything for you? Would you be motivated and want to write every day or 3 times a week. Would you all of a sudden jump up and down and say that is all I needed to motivate me to keep going?

    OR

Would you say I just can't do this? It is not what I want for my life. And would you find other things to do instead of building your blog?

The decision is yours, and I wish you well on whatever you choose to do.

    Laura

    Hi Laura,

Thank you for your input. Yes you're right about it being my decision but when you wrote this..

(If I told you that you need to continue with WA, would that change everything for you? Would you be motivated and want to write every day or 3 times a week. Would you all of a sudden jump up and down and say that is all I needed to motivate me to keep going? )

Yes I think maybe I need people to keep me motivated and that's what I love about this community! I think I just need to be more exposed to WA everyday for that motivation. I've come this far and its disheartening to feel this way. I guess it's like going to college and wanting to quit half way through...

Sometimes I guess this is all I need is just to cry out for help so I can get a better perspective on what I need to do

    Thank you!

Joyce, then yes you need to hang in there. I find that when I am more active in the community I too am more motivated.

I do believe WA is the best in the world and the support is like no other. So I hate to see others throw in the towel.

I write an inspiration blog. The link is under my profile if any of that would be helpful. I as well as so many here write some motivational WA blogs.

Since you do want to do this then please do stay.

And I am only a PM away if you need anything.

    Laura

    Hi Laura,

Thank you so much for understanding and listening to me. I will definitely look at your profile. I do believe others give us motivation when we need it and maybe that is all I need!

I do believe WA is worth the price we pay and I do think they are her to help each and every one of us.

I just might write a motivation blog, maybe doing this will give me more of a boost and an incentive to move forward with this..😀

I do think I see the light at the end of the tunnel thanks to you and a few others here that have helped me so far.

Thanks for being a friend and a motivator!

    Hi Laura,

I thought I responded to this but seems like it disappeared lol

Yes thanks to you and a few others I have decided to continue on. I will stay motivated and log on everyday. I believe this will help me in many ways. I also need to make a goal for myself and just totally focus on doing my lessons and continue to build my website and start making some money. That will motivate me!

I think writing a motivational blog might help me as others in many ways..

I'm happy to be part of this community and thank you for your friendship!😀

I am happy to call you my friend.

    Laura

If you aren't going to continue with training and writing and publishing, then it would be a waste of your money and you'll only feel guilty.

On the other hand, if you want to find a way to make it happen, you need to keep yourself motivated and find time. Here's how it worked for me:

I never considered myself not a good writer, but seems that I have gotten somewhat better from learning on here...and your right...
I appreciate your input and the training you sent, maybe watching that will get me re-motivated. Thank you very much!
