“…better, faster, or more efficiently.”
When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate (WA), I already had an idea for two websites. I began building a website for one of the ideas (still as a Starter Member), but as I got deeper into it, I realized that I wasn't quite ready to see it through just yet. So, I decided to go Premium and build a website to promote WA itself.
My plan was to completely finish the site before publishing it; however, I later read something by Kyle who suggested publishing our sites well before they are “finished” and then work on improvement over time. Ok…that made sense…so I did it.
However, as I worked on my site over the next few weeks, a thought slowly crept into my mind: “This site may NEVER actually be ‘finished’”; because, there will always be something that I can do better, faster, or more efficiently.
BETTER
While building my website was simple and easy, getting it ready for prime time turned out to be a much bigger job than I thought it would be. However, I kept plugging along and finally got the site to a point where I had sufficient content to publish it. Then, I found myself making numerous changes in how the site looked (formatting, image placement, etc.) and its content—making it better. I also became better at navigating and interacting with the WA community, writing content for web pages and blogs, and learning and understanding what I needed to do to be successful online.
FASTER
Being better is good, but sometimes, being faster is even better. Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate’s phenomenal training program, I can now put a website together much faster than I ever could before. I am able to write blogs and perform necessary maintenance tasks on my website a lot faster than I could in the beginning. And, as I continue refining, updating and maintaining my site, I’ll become even faster yet.
EFFICIENTLY
I find that when I work efficiently, I automatically become better and faster. Being organized and consistent are two very important ways to work efficiently. For example, setting up a good file system on my computer for my WA business is one way that I work efficiently.
I have a motto that I have used for decades:
“No matter how well it is currently being done, it can almost always be done better, faster, or more efficiently.” — Joshua Warren
- How do you work better?
- What about faster?
- Do you attempt to work more efficiently?
I'd like to know what you think.

Considering I've been self-employed for most of my considerable working life, I'm a nightmare. My motto is "why put off until tomorrow something you can put off until the day after".
I'm not lazy, but over the years I've learned that I work better to deadlines, and I've even been known to work for 72 hours straight without sleep. Far from doing a sketchy job I've found that I'm at my most creative in the darker hours. I sometimes put work off in order to do it when my wife's gone to bed and there's not disturbance from the phones. That's my recipe for working more efficiently.
Lol (your motto).
Hey Paul...whatever works is what works. I have to admit that I sometimes operate in that mode, as well. I just don't like it when I do. As for 72 hours straight--not since my days in the military.

I like to write a to do list for the next day of what I have to get done. A bit of this and a bit of that on a daily basis works for me. Obviously with the exception of the big tasks. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that sometimes gets bored easily. That being said though, when I put my mind to something - watch out, as there's no stopping me until I get it done.
That sounds like a "can do" attitude to me, Annie. No one is 100% efficient 100% of the time; however, as long as one is consistently making some progress, it's all good!
