AMP instalation, problem solution

I installed the AMP plugin, after the lesson that was given, and I want to make a couple of comments, which I did not see clear in the video, and I think they can raise some confusion.

The first thing is that you must activate the use in mobiles, it seems logical, but without that, it will not work. You must go to the AMP plugin- Getting started and in the Mobile Redirection, put it ON.

Secondly if you deactivate the use on all pages, what I have found, is that when I see my website on the phone, I could see all my posts perfectly, but I could not browse my pages, clicking simply did not happen.

After that I have activate the use in all the pages, (AMP plugin- Getting started and in the AMP on Pages, put it ON), but I keep getting the same problem, until I realized that I had not resave the permalink structure.

So to do it , go to Settings-Permalink-Save changes.

After this, I was able to navigate my web in my android without problems.

I hope this helps you

Best Regards

Jose Ramon

Hey Jose! Thanks for this information.

My posts are okay but I've been getting a bunch of errors from my pages. Just wanted to be sure what I'm supposed to do with the Permalink. What am I changing the permalink to?

For me is not working bad, as I had only minor problems with the pages, ... if I turn off pages, then I can not navigate by Mobile... so. But I still think that this plugin is very young , I am thinking to skip from it until is more mature.

Great. Was just looking for a solution to that problem. In the live session the other day Jay mentioned that who would not recommend to put AMP on pages but just posts. Do you know doing what you are suggesting here will affect the site or results in any way?

Yes It was a doubt that I had.... I have not seen nothing strange , but my site is very young. It looks also that Jovo ( he have done the same) is ok also....

Thanks. Lets see and hope for the best for now and keep our eyes and ears open to see if anybody else post info on this:-)

yes.... ;-), I have read of another, do not remember the name that also have done it.

I actually had problems after I tried to not use AMP for my pages.
Even after I saved the permalinks again.

So now, I changed it back and are using AMP for pages, too.

Going to check, if that is causing problems somewhere else. ;)

Keep us informed Moritz

Just to let you know.
I removed AMP from my site again.
I couldn't modify it they way I needed it (opt-in form, affiliate disclaimer, ads,...).
Additionally, I didn't see any improvements in regards to rankings, visitor numbers.

At the moment it's just not for me.

Cheers
Moritz

Yes Moritz, I am thinking about it also

Thanks for sharing, Jose.

You are wellcome, Mel
