Changed my niche and haven't looked back

This is my first blog post and I wanted to share a decision I made recently to change my niche.
I am still relatively new to Wealthy Affiliate. When I started I just wanted to learn so I chose a niche that was big and broad and popular. I thought this would make it easier with the learning process. The problem was that this was a niche that I did not have much knowledge of, nor was it something I was particularly passionate about.
I wrote three posts in this niche. Each of them took a lot of time to research to make sure I provided quality information given I did not have a lot of expertise in this niche. To be honest I found it hard going because I also didn't feel particularly enthusiastic about the topics.
I reached a point along the way where I realized where my passion really was. Shortly after that I decided to change my niche and started writing about a topic I am really passionate about - fatherhood. I had learnt a lot developing the website so the effort was definitely not wasted and it actually helped me to discover the niche I needed to be in.
Three blog posts later on my new site and I have to say it is a completely different experience writing in a niche that I actually feel passionate about. I am also getting more encouraging feedback from the WA community on my posts. I am sure it is because I am speaking from my own personal experience and my passion is coming through in my writing.
I thought I would share my experience as it may help any of you out there that may be in a similar position to where I was and wondering whether to continue with a niche that your heart isn't really in to.

Working in niche's you have a passion for make it's a fun and rewarding experience vs having to research and make a job out of it. That said, if you want to research and go that route by all means do...It is a business after all but, if you want to have a good time, go the passion route. You can always have more than one and create a balance too.
My first niche is Drones and it's a highly competitive niche but I chose it because i love it and I wanted to use it while I learned the system so to speak. Choosing something I love made it easier to go through the learning process.
