I only just joined up here and so far have just been reading some of the posts and comments written by other members. There seems very little to offer apart from expensive hosting and a community of wannabe entrepeneurs. I have been trading online now since the mid 1990s and have gained a lot of experience in online sales and marketing, The Making Money Online niche has to be one of the hardest to crack and I suspect that very few members here are actually making a ton of money as they proclaim. All they seem to be doing is writing thousands of words that serve only to promote Wealthy Affiliate. Just try and find anything by doing a Google search re WA that hasn't been written by one of it's members. Looks like a great business plan for the founders and they are now probably enjoying the fruits of their labour.
There is a large element of "the blind leading the blind" here and I have seen some terrible advice written by people who claim to be experts.
Having said all that, the WA platform itself looks OK for a complete beginner. The free lessons will be very useful for newbies even though they are already out of date.
Wordpress is not the only way to build a website and I find it very limiting. Add to that "premium membership" and hosting at WA, then you will run into a few problrms in the future. If your buying a domain name, it;s best not to use the same company as the one that hosts your website. You may want to move the site to a new server at some time in the future and there are many, much better options out there.
By all means, try the free training and use what you learn to build a free wordpress site. For the community addicts, there is always Fakebook.

With an alleged membership of 1.5 million, I would've expected more than only 3 responses. It seems that my observations are justified.
I realized that WA members don't response well with posts that has no value to their business. That's the reason. :)

First of all, you've made an opinion after how much time? 24 hrs upon joining?
Second: the fact that WA doesn't suite your needs (or your high expertise level) doesn't mean that we are all blind here.
You mentioned hosting ... Putting aside everything that WA offers for $49 per month (which could be 0.82 cents per day with a black friday deal), could you please tell me a hosting company that will offer you hosting + free SSL for 50 websites for that amount?
And is not a "cheap" crap ... It gives you

Actually you get 25 websites with premium. The others are subdomains of siterubix. Not such a great deal and who would be able to manage that many sites as a WA member? Most have trouble with only one.
So now you are saying that WA has too much to offer?
And once again: you are free to go to any other hosting provider to get some crap $5 per month hosting that will freeze your site once per day ... Oh and forgetting the "valueless" siterubix subdomains ... 25 x $5 = $125 per month ... If I'm right ...
And that's just the hosting ...
Anyway ... As Jim said, you should probably move on to all those better options Johnny ... That's your right ... But making 1 million people blind and brainwashed just because WA doesn't suit your needs, is definitely not a good approach for a talented and veteran marketer.
I'm saying it's not a great deal and yes 25 websites is too much to offer. It isn't made clear to new members that they must pay for each domain. If they make the choice of buying the domains within WA they will have problems with transfer the name or even with updating nameservers when they eventually leave. Why in the world would anyone just starting out need 50 websites? Read my comment about the million plus members below. Many have already left although their profiles remain for everyone to see. It's all a charade mate!

Just a small tip. You don't need to buy hosting for each website anymore. Instead many companies will provide you with a reseller account with much better features than WA and at less cost. They really are not all crap!

That's a terrible presumptuous and annoying statement.
The reason why WA reviews are all over the internet because we have over 1 MILLION members for all over the world. If this is something doesn't suit you, you may leave peacefully.
I can see you are in trading business, so this might not for you.
What you didn't realize is that despite there are things which need to be updated in the formal training, we are all learning every single day through this platform. There is webinar every week.
The tools provided here => site editor, keyword research tool, online support, hosting and support from the community including the founders themselves is worth more than $49. Or you are only talking about hosting? Get it from Hostagator and there are more cheaper hosting plan out there.
More importantly, the sharing culture in this platform let everybody to build, share and learn from each other so you never feel you are building your business alone.
We have the choice whether to purchase the domain here or outside WA. So your claim is on purchasing domain is baseless.

As you have been a member for 4 years, you must be well aware of the charade here at Wealthy Affiliate. Perhaps you are just one of those that continue to feed it with the hope of making it one day soon. Some are so afraid to give up because they have been brainwashed. Good luck!

We are all adult here, we can freely make a choice of what to have and what to follow. If WA is crappy as you have visualized it, people like me and more than 1m members have left the platform long time ago. You should do more research on the question "why people are staying over WA despite what I (you) think/assumed?".

Please note that most of the 1m members that you mention are no longer active. Many either lost hope/money or had the intelligence to get out of it. Others are just free members like myself and some have never even bothered to look at what they signed up for. It's all a charade to make money for the owners. members are rarely deleted even when they no longer pump money into it.
How many active members are there? and what percentage of them are earning enough money from the WA system to survive independently from other sources?
Take as much time as you need to answer these questions.
You are good at making assumption. That's not good for your health and well being. :) It's ok. Let say the active members are 500k, so what? Your early assumption is on the value WA gives to its members.
Here's my challenge to you jonnyjonny.
Show me a platform that provide a better offer than WA that charge less than what we are charged here. If you can show me with proof and make sense, I'll quit WA.

It seems that many members here assume that WA has a membership of 1.5 million!
That is an impressive figure if only it was a fact.
That figure includes not only past members as their profiles have never been deleted, but also the many free members like myself who never get past the first week. I will omly be around for one day as I'm just killing a bit of spare time. However, you may still find my profile next month, next year or even in 5 years time among the 1.5 million. I know of a few ex members that left WA many months ago, yet their profiles are still online for the world to see and the existing members to worship.

Hopefully some of you will see past this charade as a devious marketing tactic. I wonder if anyone other than the owners of WA know the true figures regarding membership. I suspect there may only be several thousand currently active members and vey few of them actually earning a serious income from it. I did a quick search of text from one of "kyle's" automated messages whicg only produced around 1000 results.
Surely there must be more than 1000 members, considering the amount of hype going around over many years.
I've found it hard to get an honest opinion from any members here and most will not tell the truth as they seem to be either brainwashed or living in fear of failure.
The engagement level is always equally proportional with the provided value.

You’re entitled to your opinion but consider the following:
1) You made this post less than 24 hours ago and yet you expect how many replies already? There are members all over the world. Their “work hours” obviously vary greatly. As I write this, it’s 3 AM here.
2) You’re telling people how they’ve fallen pray to some terrible lie. To this I have a couple of responses...A) Many here choose not to engage others who are just being negative. They are here to learn, help others and become successful. They don’t have the time nor the patience to engage in such debates. B) Others may not have the same impressions/experience you have and actually find the service beneficial. I, myself, was skeptical of WA, with so many scams out there. I chose to give it a try, not based on how many members it claims but on the realistic claims made by the program, no get rich quick or make money with little to no effort claims. I suspect you came in with unrealistic expectations in this regard.
I’m not really concerned with the member count. I’m concerned with the training quality, features offered and, most importantly, the community here that’s been so helpful.
I’m sorry you’re unhappy here. On the plus side, you’re a free starter member so all you’ve spent is your time.
At last! a sensible response. I haven't come here with the intention of either making money or causing any trouble. Initially, I happened to see some comments during a google search that originated from a WA member which were completely untrue and out of date. I only signed up with the intention of making people aware of the deceptive practices that are often used here. Once on the "inside" I noticed that it's much worse than I suspected. Most negative comments are suppressed for obvious reasons and there seems to be some kind of religious influence lurking beneath the facade.
I will stand by all my previous comments and certainly not doing this for attention. I get plenty of that in my job.
I just think it's unfortunate that many people get sucked into something like this while they may be vulnerable Many are desperate and cannot really afford to pay so much just on some kind of faith! .
As for the amount of responses I get to this post, it really makes no difference to my wellbeing and it's only a little experiment. I do not believe that WA has so many members as they claim and I know for a fact that the statistics are inaccurate and very deceptive.
Anyway off to work tomorrow and my time here is limited. I'm happy to say that I do not have to pay for it.
If only you can get past the moaning and see the training you would be halfway there to being a successful marketeer. The other half is your mindset which clearly needs adjusting

It’s ok for a free ride if you are just beginning but like yourself, I’ve been around a bit. I’m not looking to start any kind of business here. Merely an observational experiment.
