My Facebook Account Now Disabled !

Hi All,

After being able to get back on my Facebook account, I did a few posts at varying times. When surfing the net I went back to Facebook where I was greeted with a message "it looks like there has been suspicious activity on your account" and we have disabled it for security reasons.

Facebook go on to say "please can I upload my profile photo which we will review and be in touch". I did this but have heard nothing.

I clicked on their appeal link, inputting my email address, name, and having to upload my profile photo again. I also left a message explaining what they had done.

After doing this I then get a Facebook message saying I will get an email shortly, but as yet not heard a thing.

So I decided to go on Google Chrome and input, Facebook account has been disabled. There are many folk who are suffering with the same situation, it seems as normal, Facebook have the upper hand, they are not contactable with live chat etc. Also some of these folk have had to wait a few weeks to get a response from Facebook to get logged in again.

Another appalling attitude by Facebook, I am not too bothered anymore, but other folk I was reading about on Google were desperate to have their account back, because this is the way the keep in touch with relatives, some elderly.

Middle of the week and hope you are all doing ok, and not having any social media problems.

Thank you,

John

Wow Jon, that really stinks in a way, sometimes I have a really hard time being on Facebook and I am not really into Twitter. I think for myself anyway, I will be looking into others forms of social media and limit my time on Facebook.

Hi Suzette,

You are doing the right thing, Facebook is a waste of time unless you want to just chat and get likes. I have wasted too much time and energy on Facebook for nil return.

John

That is Facebook, I don't think they know that they hurt themselves
in China you can only access Facebook with VPN if you get caught you don't have Internet access at all. In India, you can only place ads on Facebook when you have a business and you pay GST. Facebook is losing on the 2 big markets.

Hi Sylvia,

Facebook don't want us internet marketers, they just want chit chat. If you want to build your business Facebook is not the way to go.

John

With Chit Chat they don't make money, they need the ads

Sorry to hear that.

By not posting to groups on Facebook will free up a lot of time.

John

Technology can be a pain sometimes but if we depend on it fully it can be a scarcity moment when the t chnokogy is not available. Hence, we should all not to forget to call , write or even find another avenue to communicate when Facebook is the only way to communicate.

WhatsApp or WeChat can another way to communicate.

Thank you, John.

Facebook only want chit chat, internet marketers are of no interest to them so they are losing out. As you point out there are other Social Media alternatives.

John

Sounds like this is a permanent ban.
Sorry to hear this John, this is exactly what I was fearful of for those getting banned too many times.

You may have read my article, but I am sure that is no consolation to you now.

Hi Kaju,

Facebook has been hard going from day one, I will not miss them. Linkedin is so much better all round and very professional. I have only been with them a short time and have over 1,000 connections with other members.

John

Yes John, I agree Linked In is so much better!

That's a bit uncalled for and not needed John. I hope you don't have to wait too long to get back on though. Mind you after this I would be asking myself if I really want to go back on facebook. xx

Hi Cheryl,

Facebook have done me a favour, I have wasted too much time on there with nothing to show for it.
Unless you want to chit chat now and again better off staying away from Facebook. xx

John

I also had one of my Facebook accounts disabled because one of my video people used a copyrighted soundtrack. The account was only disabled for about an hour and it wasn't a personal account it was a business account. I understand Facebook has a responsibility to the public. The fact that they have gotten rid of all those MLM ads I think is a good thing. They have not stopped any of my ads as of yet but we are at a lull time of the year for us. Not only that but we spend a lot of money on Facebook so we may get better consideration than the average Joe because we are a legitimate business . If they pull this stuff in October November or December I would hit the roof.

Hi Keith,

I have spent too much time on Facebook, they have done me a favour. Perhaps they have taken offence because I never took up their paid promotion of my posts. In my opinion Facebook only want casual chit chat, not us pushing our brand and website in an honest way. Linkedin are so much better for business and more professional.

John

Check these out john as a needed alternative! http://time.com/3722915/best-social-networks/

Thanks for the is link Mike. I am finding Next Door to be quite interesting. Will be looking into the advertising and classified sections more before diving into it.

Thank you, Mike.

app.net looks a great alternative. Facebook has wasted so much time they just want occasional chit chat not online marketers who post regularly to their groups. Their loss not mine.

John

Have you made many sales from Facebook? If not I would just move on to greener pastures, and say good riddance.

Hi Jessica,

No not a dime !!!
I am going to join you and not use Facebook, it has wasted so much of my time. Facebook does not want the likes of us only folk that want to chit chat now and again.
I had loads of likes but that was it.

John

Yeah, I got tons of followers and likes on Twitter but I don't think I have gotten a single sale from it! I think I was probably wasting my time! Twitter is an easy way to promote WA however. I don't have a WA (or any work from home niche) website. With Twitter I can spend 30 seconds and create a tweet with my WA link and not even need a website.

When I post one of these I can get 15-20 people checking out WA each day. So far no bites there either though. I know it takes a lot of lookers to get someone willing to sign up though. I would need hundreds per day in order to actually get sign ups...so I may just be wasting my time doing that as well!

I KNOW I would be better off if I had spent all the time I put into social media into writing posts for my site. That is what I HAVE to do. When I write new posts I get more traffic, it is so simple. I think we get sucked into the instant gratification of social media where we post something and get followers and likes so it feels like we are successful. It is pretty hollow though.

Hey, do you use the comment thread here to get comments on your website posts, or just the Site Comments platform. I discovered the comments thread is a much faster way to get comments.

Jessica, you are so right !!!

Social Media is easy to get followers and likes, they just click a button. That is no good for our businesses.

Therefore I agree with you again, Social Media is a waste of time and effort.
I use Site Comments, how and where is the comment thread please ??

John
