I'm sure you've seen this coming, but I need your help! You would think that there are only so many ways to write about the importance of having a powerful, engaging tone of voice on your website. But guess what? There are a lot more than just one! To get an idea for how to make your site the go-to resource for any question or information needs, please read through this shortlist:

  • Mix it up - Use different voices (serious and silly) in different places on your site. 'to make people laugh' and 'to persuade them.'
  • Show off - Include testimonials from happy customers. Remember that if someone likes what they see on their screen, they probably head back.

"The best way to engage with people online is by using tone of voice. Whether your brand personality is serious, goofy or downright silly, you can use different tones of voice to suit them.

One thing that will help you maintain a consistent tone of voice is including keywords in your posts to remind yourself how you should be feeling about what you're posting."

The secret sauce is in the tone of voice.

When people think about how they communicate, they may not think of the tone of their voice. But there are many different ways to use tone in a sentence. For example, when assisting, you could use an intriguing tone (which grabs attention), a playful tone (making someone feel good), or even a friendly/informative toned sentence structure.

So why is the tone of voice important? The truth is that it's the secret sauce to writing awesome content! Many people have written books for children and adults with all sorts of topics like true stories, fictional tales or explanations on science concepts. However, if you want your story to be successful, using an engaging voice will make sure that people listen and learn!

Coca Cola Voice

Every company has a distinct personality. For example, Coca Cola is all about being fun and inviting to everyone, even if they are not buying their product! A competitive lot when it comes to global domination of the soft drink industry (Coke vs Pepsi), cola companies offer those who have never tasted these carbonated beverages an intriguing flavour experience with flavours such as "Vanilla Coke" or "Lemon-lime Diet Coke." So what does this mean for your own website?

"What is your favourite pizza topping?"

There was a woman who had been blogging for years. She knew everything about the internet and all of its secrets. Her blog posts were so well researched, scholars and academics could read them. But she started to notice that followers weren't coming back even though she posted great content! So one day, she decided to go out on a limb with her next post: "What is your favourite pizza topping?" After posting it, she noticed an uptick in engagement again! It turns out people loved being silly sometimes too...

You might think that, as a writer myself, I'm an advocate for short-form content.
But let me tell you- it's not always better! "Long-form" articles do have their benefits. For instance, long-form articles usually contain more information than shorter ones. People are bound to find the content more informative and engaging when they can read about something in-depth without having to worry about skipping over words because of a lack of space on paper or screen.

Another benefit is that longer articles allow people to get lost in reading them; luckily, there isn't any risk of getting trapped inside one! No worries with this article--you're free to come out here anytime you want!

Cereal Blogs

The next morning, I awoke and stumbled on my way to the kitchen for breakfast. Put all of these tips into practice, and soon enough, people will know how authoritative your blog is. I grabbed some cereal from the cabinet and sat down at a tiny table to eat it still in my pyjamas. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head: more people will trust me if I include numbers and facts in every post on this blog!

The Human Touch

"I am writing this article because I'm a human being, and like everyone else, I have my preferences. When it comes to reading, three things really annoy me: too much text without any images or illustrations; bad typography (fonts) for webpages; and articles with no introduction or conclusion."

This is a story about people who want to make their life easier. Introductions, conclusions, images and videos are all good sense making it easy for them because they don't really have to do any work other than reading all over again from where thy last stop was. The problem is that if you're using pagination, then this will save time since people won't see what looks like space between the bottom of one article and the top of another.

Persuasive/ misleading is a fine line?

I learned about the power of persuasive writing through a guy named Steve. Steve was an average Joe who worked at a coffee shop for five years and never made it past barista status, but he was great at persuading customers to buy more espresso shots than they needed or wanted. He used tricks like asking if you wanted cream in your coffee before adding milk and then asking if you want sugar instead after the milk is added. He also pretended that he couldn't reach something from underneath the counter (even though he just had to move his stool) so that people would feel bad for him and offer their assistance-and buy another latte on top of what they ordered last time. Within six months, Steve got promoted to shift manager.

Storytelling for engagement?

Storytelling is a wonderful way to connect with others and share your thoughts. It can be anything from funny stories, touching tales of loss or joy, lessons learned the hard way; it really doesn't matter as long as you share some aspect of yourself with someone else. I'm sure we have all experienced that feeling when we hear about something similar to our experience and feel an instant connection just by hearing one sentence about what happened. In today's fast-paced world, where overstimulation seems like the norm, storytelling is becoming more important than ever before.

Did you know that telling stories will also increase engagement rates? By using WA's platform for storytelling, people will read personal accounts on their favourite topics.

Conclusion

This blog post has been full of useful tips about how you can enhance trust with customers through creating engaging story-focused content and using neuroscience principles when marketing products online.

I hope these ideas have inspired some new thoughts about how you might approach your own digital marketing strategy! Thank you, my fellow WA friends, for all the support and good blogging to you!

Hi John
An excellent post! Thank you.

I ageee that developing the art of storytelling in writing is a key skill. I’m a work in progress.

I would call the thin line you refer to, as being between influence and manipulation. I think the key to influencing with integrity and respect comes from first discovering what the other person wants to achieve and then keeping that in mind while offering ideas.
