I was wondering when this was going to happen. Now Google can officially say that they use your Analytics data to determine rankings in their search. Something that I have been saying for quite some time, but of course Google wouldn't come out and say.
I see what you're saying, if you don't already have good analytics data on your newly published content, then that factors into their algorithms to keep that content ranking low. Hmmmm. Good point. Thank you.
Time on page, click throughs, navigation. These are all things that indicate a good/bad user experience and could absolutely be valuable metrics when determining rank.
