Talks, Tools, and Texts (My 3Ts) and Why They Keep Me Focused
As I wrote in this article, and as I have also taught why you need more than one stream of income, I would like to update you on how this idea kept evolving from that time to now. I have an income generating system with three pillars, and I believe this is not accidental. It's a plan. Read more below for more information, and for inspiration.
I have been thinking a lot about the 3Ts lately. Talks, Tools, and Texts. This is the simple structure I use to keep my work clear, especially when life gets noisy and unpredictable.
And lately, life has been noisy in the real way. Power cuts.
Slow network here in Nairobi.
Interruptions that can break your rhythm in the middle of something important.
But I have learned that if your system is clear, you can stop and continue without losing yourself.
Let me start with where this idea comes from. I grew up in places where you could not plan your day like people do in stable cities. Along the Sobat River and beyond, life trained us to adapt fast.
You wake up, and the plan changes. You go out, and something shifts.
Sometimes it is weather. Sometimes it is conflict. Sometimes it is hunger.
Sometimes it is the simple fact that there is no light at night.
That background shaped how I work today. Even now, when I sit with a laptop and internet, I still carry the old lesson in my bones: do not depend on perfect conditions. Build a way of working that survives imperfect conditions.
That is where Talks come in. Talks are my services, my voice, my coaching, my teaching, my consulting. It is the part of my work where I show up as a human being in front of other human beings.
Sometimes that means mentoring someone who is stuck. Sometimes it means explaining a system I use. Sometimes it means encouraging a new member who feels lost in the beginning stages.
I remember what it feels like to be new, to be hungry for direction, and to be unsure if you are wasting your time. So when I talk, I try to speak like someone who has walked a rough road, not like someone selling a dream.
Then there are Tools. Tools are the practical things that help me do the work without burning out. Wealthy Affiliate itself is one of those tools for me.
The training. The community. The website building. The writing routine. Image Studio too. I have been using it to create featured images, and honestly it has made my work faster and cleaner.
I used to do many things the hard way, jumping between apps, overthinking designs, and wasting time. Now I am learning to simplify. A tool is not magic, but it can remove friction. And when you come from a life where friction was constant, you value any tool that saves time and mental energy.
Finally, Texts. Texts are my writing. My blog posts. My Wealthy Affiliate posts. My books. My long opinion pieces. This part is personal for me, because writing is how I survived many seasons of life.
When you have seen hardship early, you either let it make you bitter, or you turn it into something useful.
For me, writing became a way to process pain, convert experience into meaning, and then share it so someone else can stand up straighter. I still write like that.
Even when I am teaching affiliate marketing or creating an image, I am still trying to turn real life into something that helps.
What I like about the 3Ts is that they work together. Talks keep me connected to people. Tools keep me efficient and consistent. Texts keep my message alive and searchable, even when I am offline or asleep.
And when one area is slow, the other two can carry me. If my network is weak and I cannot upload videos, I can write. If I am tired of writing, I can focus on visuals and systems. If I feel isolated, I can engage the community and serve through conversation.
Right now, I am coming from a season of heavy scheduling for 2026.
That work took a lot out of me, but it also gave me space. Space to return to the community, especially the new members who are just joining and trying to find their footing.
I want to share more of what I am learning in real time, not as a polished guru, but as someone building step by step. I am also planning more short videos, even though I am still learning how to show my face and screen together in a clean way. I will keep improving.
If you are a new member, or even an older member who feels scattered, maybe try this simple question: which of your 3Ts is weakest right now?
Is it Talks, meaning you are not engaging and asking for help?
Is it Tools, meaning you do not have a workable setup yet?
Or is it Texts, meaning you are not publishing consistently?
If you want, reply and tell me your current focus.
Also tell me what is making it hard.
I read the comments and I respond, because for me this is not just platform activity.
It is community, and community is part of how we keep going.

You're most welcome, JD, and thanks a lot for the compliments. I must do my best to improve my income generating system.
This is a fantastic and incredibly practical post! Your "3Ts" framework (Talks, Tools, and Texts) provides exactly the kind of structured focus that is often missing for entrepreneurs, especially those starting out in affiliate marketing here at Wealthy Affiliate.
It's easy to get distracted by shiny objects and the constant deluge of information online, but your model offers a simple, actionable strategy for maintaining momentum.
Ah, I'm glad you liked it, Monse. It's working for me in life and work. I believe work is a a result of life. I call it, Being + Doing = Meaning. or M = {B, D^2}.
I have seen that equation in many of your posts but must have missed somehow your original explanation. I am glad to now know what it means. π
Thanks, Elyta for reading and leaving a comment. I hope you now know what it stands for. It's a philosophy I want to be taught in schools worldwide.
Ah, okay. Let me know when you find it. There are many posts now and more are on the pipeline.

John, this post is pure clarity .
You didnβt just share a system, you gave us a survive kit. That 3Ts model ? Itβs not a theory, itβs lived experience. Talks, Tools, Texts, itβs how we stay steady when life gets noisy.
