What About Offline Marketing!!!

What do people think about offline marketing? Most individuals think that type of marketing is old school, everyone now thinks to only use online marketing techniques. Well think again.

You never want to stick with one source to obtain traffic. Obviously, Organic marketing, Email marketing, Social Media, PPC and Mobile marketing are the main online sources that are used today. We can't forget about offline marketing.

Offline marketing can benefit those involved in an online business. Just take a look at some other strategies that can be accommodate our online business. I have listed a few below. Let me know what your thoughts are about using these marketing skillsets.

  1. Direct mail - can't forget about our lovely postal service
  2. Business Cards - Easy to hand out or forget that you left a few at the coffee shop
  3. Flyers + Pamphlets - This can be easily thumb tacked at the apartment complexes
  4. Place an Ad in magazine or newspaper- Place an ad- Be your own boss and work from home.
  5. Cold Calling - Call random people- I'm personally not a fan, but wanted to throw it out there anyways.

I do a lot of warm calling first because I find out the buyers name and send them a pen or a note pad and then they have my name and I just phone to see if they have received my parcel and then go from there but our laws are a bit different in the UK nothing wrong with a cold call if your intention is to make your prospects financial and time situation better.

that is true we forget the offline stuff well I do, we have to be careful about cold calling though

I don't do the cold calling. I guess it really depends what type of business you are involved in.

You could turn a cold call into a warm call first. If you know your target audience and search Google or bing for your niche. Find those local businesses that have websites and get to "know them first". Then email them or use their contact form to introduce yourself and make it clear that you explored their site. Make it personal and ask if you could call or stop by and what would be a good time?

I think 1 - 4 are great ideas but 5 is not!

Agreed.

Yea, you're right about the cold calling, not a fan at all... All the others are pretty nice! My favorite is definitely the business cards :)

My top two are business cards and flyers.

Cold call no for me but option 1 to 4 is worth trying and i was thining of some the option that i may give a try. Thanks for sharing
