Do members here not understand the principle of keywords?

I have a basic knowledge of affiliate marketing and was considering expanding it here. However I have had a worrying first encounter with WA.

One of the first posts I saw when I joined up yesterday was from a member called 'LenMise' saying he was on Page 1 in Google. He included a screenshot showing his keyword and ranking Page 1 on Google.

The keyword was not a valid keyword, and even with my basic knowledge I understood that. Yet there were about 30 members congratulating him on 'achieving page 1 on Google' for a keyword that isn't valid. When I hovered over the profiles some of them were very highly ranked here and even ambassadors.

Only 1 other member pointed out it wasn't a valid keyword and took the time to explain it.

It wasn't the best first impression as it makes me think most WA members don't understand what constitutes a valid keyword - am I right?

Wow this post opened my eye, so I will be more careful when people claim fame. I don't get hooked up on ranking anymore, I want to keep writing my content. We have a member that goes by the name of Rob who apparently worked with Google and he wrote an article explaining that we should not be concerned so much with stuffing our post with keywords, but just write the content and then Google will decide which keywords to rank you on. I also thank Jay for mentioning that keywords should make human sense, meaning is that how people speak...

I think most that have progressed in the training understand Keywords. And Jaaxy certainly helps find them. Most likely, it was more of a read through and concentrating on the success, but not even noticing the kw itself. It happens. We are all busy with our own projects, but like to offer support to others when we can. I hope it doesn't distract you from all the good that is here.

it has made me nervous

This is because of the stupid ranking system here, which is meaningless but people like to have ranks and jump on everything without reading, just to improve their status. This is why even the so-called ambasador mentioned above may have no idea what a good keyword is.

oh so the top ranking people are just the ones who comment the most?

Quite worrying.

Thank you.

Not even close to true. The system doesn't rank only comments but chat help, articles of content, and training created. If it were just on comments more of these people would be in the top 100, and fewer of those people would be helping new members.

Not all of them but you are close. Take Nathaniell as a great example, he has been on the top here since I came 6 years ago, he knows the stuff, my adwise is to follow what he is saying.

Do not get into this, you will be wasting your time, build yor business instead.

ok thank you. I won't

Ok wow you are scaring me even more now as some of the people who commented on the LenMise post were highly ranked. That means there could be lots of articles of content and training from them.

Man, you have a sharp mind.

thank you

Many don't take time to look at the screenshots and see the person either Googling their post address, or exact post title instead of just the keyword term they are hoping to rank for. If they follow the training though they will soon find it is the individual terms needed to rank and not the entire Ttitle of the post. We always rank highly for exact match on our own post titles and always rank number one when searching for our domain name once indexed.

Andy

That is terrible. Thanks Andy.
