How Many Affiliate Products Should You Promote Per Post?

When writing an affiliate marketing post, one key decision to make is how many products should you promote in each post.
This question was discussed earlier today in the live chat here on Wealthy Affiliate:

It's Kyle's words of advice "If you give people too much choice (that is similar) they won't be able to make a decision" that I want to focus on
The Power of a Clear Recommendation
It's an important psychological factor that too much choice leads to indecision. If you provide multiple similar options in your affiliate posts, your reader may struggle to decide and take no action at all. The best approach is therefore to identify a clear problem and offer a single, compelling solution.
This is the best analogy I can think of...
Imagine you're trying to choose an ice cream flavor and the ice cream vendor presents you with three possible options like this:
Option 1: Delicious creamy vanilla.
Option 2: Rich chocolate with sprinkled nuts.

Option 3: Salted Caramel Delight
Which one do you want?
Are you struggling to choose between them?
But... imagine if they passionately recommend only one, saying:
"You must try the strawberry... it's sooooo delicious! It's creamy, fruity, and a real taste of summer. It's refreshing, and the wonderful flavor lingers long after you've finished it. It's a real treat! You'll love it! Do you want one?"
Chances are, you'll go for the strawberry ice cream.
Apply This to Affiliate Marketing
The same logic applies to your affiliate marketing posts.
Instead of overwhelming your audience with multiple similar options, set out the problem and then provide a single, strong and enthusiastic recommendation.
By guiding your readers toward the best solution, you increase the likelihood of them taking action and making a purchase.
So, when writing your next post, ask yourself: Am I making it easy for my readers to decide? If not, simplify your approach, and you'll see better results!
Best wishes
John

This mirrors the idea behind narrowing the initial WA membership offer to just the P+ option.
By focusing potential new members' thoughts on a single offer, it becomes easier for them to sign up.
