Is English the "universal" language?
Yes and No
- In Aviation, yes. Every pilot who has to fly to other countries must speak English
- I have flown in many countries and all the control towers speak English as well as their own language.
- On the internet, yes and no. Every language has its only language websites.
- But we have to adapt to the situation we are in. Working in an English-speaking environment - you need to be able to speak English.
- There are many good English-speaking schools on line. It will pay you to learn English.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do!
- That's an old expression I have heard for years.
- The idea is, fit yourself into the situation instead of trying to fit the situation into you.
- I have lived in several countries and have had to try to learn their language.
- Granted, it was a challenge and I really messed up several times, but I did learn.
Tools for writing
- It is hard to get a program that will translate every language into English
- So, you have to be creative and learn for yourself.
- With that said, after you have translated it into English, WA has an excellent tool to check your spelling and grammar. BUT...you have to use it! It doesn't work otherwise.
- Even those of us whose native language is English, must use the spell checker to be sure.
Conclusion
Like everything else in life, we can make the changes we need to make. In the 1980s when the computer came out, I was reluctant to understand it. Glad I did!
In high school, my friend and I were the only 2 males who took typing and the other guys laughed at us. Guess who's laughing now!
Enjoy the journey and adjust to the times.

Thank you, Joe, you are right the tool in SiteContent is really great. I only use it to write my blog post within WA. As otherwise, I work in French.
Multicultural also mean plurilingual, so thank you for putting the light on it. Sometimes American think they are the whole world...

Guess I wasn't the only boy to take typing in High School Joe. I didn't choose it but because of an accident I couldn't take PE and got sent to a typing class full of girls. It was a tough break then but I learned to type well, and it helped me many times in life.

Well Ray, that makes 3 of us!
