Are You a New or Experienced Member? Time to Define Success

For those who recently joint Wealthy Affiliates (WA) here is my Top 5 recommendations to succeed as a member of this platform.

• Define what success means to you – there so much to learn, so much to do, so much we need to accomplish. However, avoid the trap of feeling overwhelm. Instead, engage on healthy habits such as setting daily learning objectives, checking off all the tasks completed and speaking out loud all your accomplishments. There is much power in establishing challenging but realistic, daily objectives. At the end of completing those objectives, there lies success. In fact, as you will learn, the Wealthy Affiliate platform is designed in a similar way. Tasks are presented to you in each lesson. As you complete each task, you check it off and then, you move onto the next lesson. Repeat this process the following day, giving yourselves enough grace for adjustments as achieve you own success.

• Start with an encouragement gift every day – in each of our hands exist the power of reaching out to complete strangers on a daily basis. Send a note and/or message to someone wishing them much success and give them a hint of your own success. Hope is contagious and what goes around comes around. I have certainly experienced this while being a member of the WA team. Your encouragement may become the difference between a bright day and an uneventful day for other individuals.

• Listen to videos several times, even if you are not looking at the screen – inevitably, some lessons or topics will require additional effort to understand or complete. What works for me is to listen to the video even if I am not looking at the screen. By the time I get home, I am much more familiar with the instructions. This allows me to be more efficient on the task vs. executing the task while trying to listen to new information.

• Write the smallest blog you can, then challenge yourself to write 10 more words next time – write about what is fun for you, what you enjoy and what helps you learn. Write anything that comes to mind, then organize it. Sometimes, I write in Spanish, then translate it later. That way I make sure to capture the thought. If nothing comes to mind, click on any area of your dashboard. Thousands of people are engaged in discussions 24 hours a day. The amount of information being shared is vast and I always feel privileged to be part of the conversation while learning from other's experience.

• (Best for last) Quickly engage and become part of the community – I am still learning, but the WA platform seems to have been designed with the community in mind. That means that the technology will flex to what the community needs. In my humble opinion, that is very important because here you are reading this article. Although I may not have the chance to meet you in person any time soon, we are connected, working together and helping each other. That is the power of the community.
