Hello WA community, it's time to share with you my progress since joining WA at the very end of March. A lot of progress has been made in these short 6 weeks since joining. Here are a few highlights and descriptions.

I have my website configured and organized the way it's going to stay. Thanks to great feedback from members, I made changes based on their suggestions and I'm happy I did, since the overall look is much better than when I first started.

I've written and published 4 complete articles so far, with a total word count approaching 16,000. I've also published about 8 support pages that include photo references along with descriptions, resource links, and custom 3-D drawings I created myself from the web. I also have added specific pages such as a detailed copyright information page (since I take and publish a bunch of my own photos), a detailed how to contribute content page, a FAQ page, and a TOS page to name a few.

I've uploaded and published almost 200 images to my site with detailed descriptions, ALT text, captions, and relevant attributes when needed.

I've taken several field trips by myself to take photos for my site, and have taken about 500 so far, re-named and resized the majority of them, and organized them into folders for quick reference.

I've created backlinks to nearly every page within my site using anchor links, have about 50 affiliate links to products or resources, and am currently working on 6 pages of product listings using data feeds from 3 merchants and am also wrapping up my next article of nearly 3,000 words and about 25 images.

To say I've been busy would be an understatement, as have been putting in a lot of hours on my site after working my normal job. It has been fun, and I do a lot of my own research in between the lessons to get as much knowledge as possible.

Speaking of lessons, I'm currently 60% through Lesson 4, I've been pausing a lot in between to get my website fine-tuned. Now that I believe I have most of the front-end work done on my site (social shares, push notifications, Monster Insights, AIO SEO, Image Optimization, Add Category to Page, Google Fonts, and a few other plugins) and have learned a ton of shortcuts within WordPress itself, have a system of checks before publishing, utilize saved blocks and whatnot, I can focus on creating content, which I have at least 100 topics to write about.

By the weekend I hope to have the 6 pages of products up, my latest article, and 4 support pages that are referenced within the article and also will be backlinked to the previously published articles.

So that's what I've been up to the last 6 weeks. I'm excited to see how the next 6 weeks go, since two of my earlier articles have made their way into the top 30 on Google. Not an easy task in my chosen micro niche, so I'm hopeful the quality content I'm creating will pay off. Time will tell.....

James.

Thank you Lula, you too!

You have made great progress. I think builders a stock pile of pictures is a great idea.
Jim

Thanks Jim, original photo content is essential to every one of my articles which contain 15-25 photos each, plus the photo galleries I create as reference material for my site visitors.

You’re doing amazing! Keep up the great work.

Susan

Thank you Susan.

Wow, James! You have been quite busy! Well done!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, as Kyle so often mentions, you have to put in the work to get the rewards.

You are so right, James!

Jeff

that sounds great!! May I ask if you have made any money out of it yet or it needs more time?

It will definitely take a bit more time for that Laurie. Up to this point I've only had about a dozen links scattered throughout my articles to Amazon or eBay. I don't want my site to look spammy before I get a decent amount of content published, that would turn off potential followers I feel.
I just started exploring the product feed option through AvantLink and the merchants that approved me there. It is a pretty quick process compared to copying and pasting links like in Amazon and eBay, plus you get product photos along with details in a fraction of the time.
