Instagram: My New Best Friend

Two weeks ago, I was totally scared of Instagram. I had no idea what to do with it and I thought it was something created for the younger generation. Then something special happened.

My New Phone.

I have been putting up with my old phone for many years and always thought the new ones would be far to hard to use.

Then I noticed that my grand kids would pick up their mothers iphone and play with it. I decided to watch the six-year-old first. She would navigate her way to some kids sites that discuss various toys like 'my little ponies'. Impressed I watched her enter different parts of the program. In an instant she than skipped into the camera section and said..

'Have a look at these beautiful pictures mum took Poppy'.

I did have a look and was blown away by how easy she made it look to navigate. She than said ..

'You Need A New Phone Poppy'

However, I was still not convinced I could handle it, plus I was worried about the cost. So I decided to check out what my grandson (3 year old) was doing on his grandma's phone (Yes, she's a lot more clever than me).

He was watching a video about bike racing on YouTube. I was very impressed. I asked him if grandma put that video on for him, his answer was 'No Poppy, it's really easy to do yourself.

Well That Convinced me..

I really needed to upgrade, my mobile (Cell) phone was almost totally useless for checking out social media, let alone working on line. I constantly jammed, took lousy pictures (it could have been me) and I was ready to hit it with a sledge hammer.

So I Checked Out New Ones.

WOW!! There are some remarkable phones available out there. Unfortunately they were all above my financial ability to buy. Then I checked out the plan I have with old phone. I hadn't had a contract with it for some years, but it was still costing me a fair amount a month to stay connected.

I than clicked on a supermarket advertisement for a budget plan which included a new phone. The new phone was an Oppo15 R , I checked it out and was blown away. It was every amount as good as an iPhone for less than half the price.

For $5 more a month.

For as little as $5 more a month I received everything my last plan gave and more. Now for my American readers I must state that our mobile (Cell) system works a amount different to yours, it's far dearer and you receive far less in the way of Giga Bits.

My old plan gave me 500mb's of Data, and free National Calls and Free National SMS's. with no phone (I had my own) for $35 a month.

My New Oppo gave me,the wonderful phone along with 2.5 GB's of Data and free National calls along with free national SMS's.

Now, I know 2.5 Gigs still isn't a lot, but as I use it mostly at home it has wireless free access to my PC, so I will rarely use the total amount given.

So Where Does Instagram Come into the Equation:

When I managed to get the new mobile (cell) phone to work, it opened up and the first apps that appeared were for Facebook and Instagram. So I took the plunge and started an Instagram account.

It Was So Easy.

Okay, so the day I started adding photo's and looking for new members was last Sunday. My Phone made it easy for me. I could take wonderful pictures with the fantastic 20mp camera and I could finally take a photo of myself, with the reverse camera option, to place on to my Gravatar Account'. I love it.

And Guess What?

In just one short week I have managed to obtain 114 followers.

And aren't I rapped.

Now to read those 10x lessons that Tony Hamilton created, luckily I bookmarked them for just this occasion.
