Excitement for Success and Fear of failure are equally bad.

We all like to be successful and are resentful to failure. When we are accosted with a sheer glimpse of an extraordinary chances of achieving a result over and above our expectation, we fail to let the course end by itself. We invoke our would be thought that our control is needed, there on we wedge on the free flow of the happening. This interference results in us distorting the naturally instigated end results. As this case applies to success occurrences, in equal measure does it impact on the the failures.

I want to express my real experience with stalled success due to over excitement in online business.

Back in the year 2011, i realized my passion for online skills and started scouting for a legit online platform. I remember this one time when i found an email in my inbox, "ditch your boss and earn $30 per hour". As an experienced online content marketer, the writer's content was really convincing and i was tricked into paying the $40 for subscription. This led me to a freelancer platform where i have never made a dime even as of today because my focus was excitement to make quick money and not establish a foundation to making a living.

That being however one of the better illustration for my decelerated success path due to excitement. Another one is when i joined WA, i was really excited on discovering the wealth of training materials i could access. I raced my minds across all the potential opportunities and i saw myself a millionaire overnight. I told myself that this is all i wanted to achieve my online business financial breakthrough. And true it is!

As an employed person heading sales & marketing nationally in my country, i had a big base of responsibilities, sales team under me, corporate clients, as well as inter-company assignments. This would leave me with very little time for my WA engagement and i always felt am not following my new discovered passion in life with the deserved focus. Deep inside i'd feel a frill of excitement about how much WA has in store for me.

As time wet on, i strained my available time to accommodate these two assignments, and around August last year, i got ill. I was diagnosed with a cardiac disease which affected my left nerves leading to sudden inertia of the left head nerves. This led me to taking a medical leave for almost three months. Despite being unwell, its during this time when i sneaked study sessions into WA though very inconsistently thus gaining a lot of confidence to pursue WA full time. On resuming in the month of November 2016, i gave my one month resignation thus the month of December was last time i was employed.

Since then, i have been on WA full time. Now this where the problem with excitement starts. A number of posts have been written by many members here about Focus, Time management, Planning, Choosing a niche wisely, but WA exposure needs more than just be taught what to do but rather doing what you are taught. My observation has been that i have become like the donkey that starved in the midst of the plenty due to following many paths that looks financially juicy than the others according to my perception, but making a leap from none.. This has ultimately led me to many impromptu start ups and none has been furthered to its yield.

My finding going by what successful people have advised is that Success and failures are events, which are easy to create in our minds. Once you action within their premises, you achieve them. What i mean here is that if you want for example to succeed in website building, you must learn as you set up your website. Its easier to make use of the content when fresh than waiting to do it later. Do not deviate from the subject until you meet the set objectives in that area. On contrally its easy to fail when you allow yourself to work without goals and without exercising what you learn. Its simply doing things with a vague cloud of mind.

It would be very unfortunate to miss the mark of breakthrough by embracing the well known strategies to failure. We can interject by deciding on what we want by being conscious of our passions, drives, abilities and purposes.

Frank and profound, Joseph, it's worth the read. Thank you.

You are welcome.

Thank you for sharing your story a Joseph. It is unfortunate that you had to go through the trials of not so honest marketers but you have learned a valuable lesson. You now realize that you have chosen a good path and can make the best of it. I wish you much success moving forward.
Jerome

I have actually discovered the greatest benefit of being a member of WA in that its an interactive place to correct and build an all round skills.
Thats why i must follow every bit of learning by participation.
You are welcome Jtainao.

I agree that i have a good background but Focus, Focus, Focus is my goal. Thank you

Yes Joseph, you have to keep your eye on the long term to achieve sustainable success. It is like learning a martial art, the black belt is a side effect, from studying and practicing the art. I hope all goes a lot better for you in the future.

Thank you Harvey, i will keep an active role in pursuit to success.

Thanks Claudia.
