Sure could use some help.
I have been working on adding some content (for a few weeks). I am having a bit of a block.
Anyway, my main question is why do I have a home page that I cannot remove or customize?

Generally your home page is where your blogs are shown by default. So as you create your blog Posts they are shown there in the order you publish them.
Keep at your lessons and keep trying out your writing. It took me nearly 3 months of reading and learning to start writing and I am still trying to get the hang of it but each week I get a bit better and publish a post. Mum always said I was a stubborn little so & so.
I am starting to like writing a bit now.
Cheers

Your home page is the first thing (most times) that a visitor will see.
A typical function of the home page is to house your blog roll - or rolling posts per se.
You can take a look at my site and see that the home page is where all my posts are listed, the most recent being on top (and unfinished by the way - lol)
Once you complete your other pages you most likely never touch them again. The posts are what you will be writing going forward.
Take a look at my home page blog roll (posts) and if you'd like check out some of the pages.
You'll do fine, just keep writing quality content.
ROCK ON!

Cool Jill, it's not so bad once you get the hang of things. Just keep writing away and always always have fun - then your business is not a job.

I took a risk and played with different templates. Still not sure that I have what I want but learned a lot.

Hi Jill,
I see I'm a little late to the party, but I can see some very good answers to your question.
If you have any other questions, feel free to message me.
Best,
