Hi everyone! I have combed over answers to questions and can't seem to find out how I can add a personal welcome message and picture on the WA landing page. Any help is greatly
Have you used the 'Create a Custom Link' on this page? It allows a picture and message, and it 'hides' your affiliate link to a WA signup page...

Thanks Loes! Got those all done right after Gary gave me the heads up. That's what happens when I go to fast and breeze right by something lol :)

I obviously haven't been clicking through my own links when placing orders - I know that's a no no, yet my personal orders placed with amazon have recently started showing up (
When I had been working on a post and had an affiliate link to Amazon on there, I must have clicked it to check and be sure it worked. Anyways, the next day I placed an order through Amazon and it did show up on my Amazon Associates account, minus the commission. :) They never said anything about it to me, so I think this might happen more than we know.
Thanks for the reply Michelle. Now that you mention it I have checked my links on posts to see that they work properly, so that's probably what it is. I'm contacting amazon today just to clear things up. I'll be back to leave an update.
Amazon said this is common if you have been on your site (uh, we're working on them all the time lol) or even have it open in a window and then place an order. She was very nice about it and said that since I notified them it wasn't an issue, plus they usually catch it and exclude the order from commission anyhow.
I asked if going forward I should use an account with a separate login/password when placing personal orders to avoid any issues. Her answer was it is fine to use your associates login/password but the best is to be logged out of your website, not having it open in any window and clear your cache before placing any orders. Although if it's hard to remember that then just use an alternate account. Ahhh, Amazon. Sometimes I think they are looking to catch you. Think I'll just use the alternate account AND clear my cache to be on the safe side.
Thanks for sharing this information, I appreciate it. There have been quite a few blogs and comments on here regarding why Amazon appears to be trying to catch us doing something wrong so they can get rid of our accounts! This is one more thing we need to be careful about with them. Thanks again and have a nice weekend! :)
