I would like to hear from successful marketers about their opinion on the following questions:

  • What is the structural difference between Blog rolls and Articles?
  • Which one drives more traffic?
  • Which one helps build larger lists?
  • Which is best for monetizing ?
I have been reading all the posts and information I can find but I don't seem to be able to get grasp on which way to go or if you should just do only one. Thank you for your input. Jerry

You might try the search "What are you looking for?" at the top of the page.

Are you asking the difference between a blog post and a static page on your site or are you meaning an article you write elsewhere than your site?

Blog roll on site and an article submitted elsewhere.

Gotcha. You would use an article to drive traffic to your blog or page on your website. You can also point them to other platforms like blog spot and Squidoo. They are a way to drive traffic and get back links. You would want to monetize your website posts and pages. Hope this helps :)

Thanks Shawn. I need to do both to be most effective.

Blogs are better for monetizing....more option, more control and more flexibility.
Articles submitted to different directories are good for driving traffic to your site.
Blogs help build larger lists because they allow u to install subscription forms.

Kamali, thank you for the input. I think I may get this all figured out. Jerry

Hello There, Jerry my advice as Best I can give is this. You use your blog to post about the Articles you Write. Which you submit to different Article Directories. Such as Street Articles, and Ezine Articles. here are many others. Inturn Each drives traffic back to you Blog or Site for the Niche you are targeting. Now if at this time you only have a Blog. Thats is fine. But you really want to branch out and create a Fan PAge on facebook. This is defferent then a Personal page. This makes for Back linking and building your Statues on Google and ranking Higher. Feel free to contact me for Futher info on this.
