The Case For Skipping a Meal to Cut Calories. My Jury is Still Out
I get the Mayo Clinic Health Letter in the mail now. I ended up subscribing to it because I wanted to read and see what is being said about certain health topics.
If you give me the choice of health or money, and tell me I can't have both, I will pick health every time.
Thank goodness we don't have to choose between the two. We can have both in abundance. I hope you, the reader, are both happy and healthy and working on financial abundance through this site.
I was raised on the idea of eating three healthy meals per day, breakfast, lunch, and supper. I was also raised to not each too much junk in between meals.
I won't deny I may have left my raising a little bit on staying awake from junk food.
However, I also have always believed in working out, running or walking for cardio, etc. In other words, eat healthy, work out in some form, and you build a healthy life.
The article I read today suggests that we skip a meal at some point in the day and that doing so has health benefits. That is a "maybe, maybe not" for me.
Maybe it works in some cases, and maybe it works more so than I am giving it credit for, but I will have to study on this topic some more to be sold on it.
We will all occasionally skip a meal for convenience sake. That is just part of living our lives wide open and having hectic schedules.
However, skipping supper for an extended period of time in order to lose weight, I am not so sure about. Why not just eat a healthy supper every night after a workout.
I think drinking enough water comes into play here as well. A big percentage of our bodies is made up of water. We want to stay hydrated. Staying hydrated is part of our health discipline.
What are your thoughts on this? Three healthy meals per day, healthy snacks in between, and regular exercise?
Or, skipping supper (or a different meal during the day) in order to cut calories and lose weight.
I'm curious about your opinion.
With Respect
Jerry

everyone has unique needs and requirements; therefore every person's eating habits will be different. It's finding what works best to bring optimal health and function for you. Thanks for the thought-provoking post Jerry
Understand sir. Every individual has to know their body and what works for them. I am sure it can be said that I eat too much on more than one occasion
Thanks, Jerry! I just don't have the appetite that I used to, my friend! Enjoy your new week!

I could not eat an AYCE Chinese Buffet if I tried right now, Nick!š³

I'm not one for skipping meals in order to lose weight Jerry!
Just eat a healthy balanced diet, get some good daily exercise in and drink lots of fluids my friend! :-)
