A River Cuts Through Rock, Not Because of Its Power, But Because of Its Persistence - H Jackson Brow
How are you today? It is Friday, March 24, 2023. This idea of persistence has been on my mind for a few reasons.
The first reason, in full transparency, is that in the past I have not always been persistent enough. It is human to want to see progress sooner than later.
If you don't see many results, you tend to lose the motivation you had to start with.
However, that is not going to get us anywhere, as I learned in the past.
It is one thing to step back for a short period of time and maybe study and research the topic in question. That short period of time needs to be just that, short.
The second reason it has been on my mind is that I want to see just what might happen if I stay with the idea of producing content this time all the way through.
When I thought about this quote and the power of water going through terrain, no matter how little the amount of water, the terrain will change.
Our persistence can have as much power as that water can, used correctly. I think persistence and discipline are in parallel with each other.
Water has power when allowed to keep flowing with persistence. The only time water loses it's immediate power is when it is contained.
Even then, it has a certain amount of pressure as it sits which means it still has some power. You might call that potential, since the pressure of the water sitting there is just waiting to be applied to something.
Water certainly erodes away at rock and dirt. We all are aware of that, and our discipline is the same way.
It takes a certain level of discipline to log in everyday to our websites and either add content or make tweaks to existing content.
If we don't add content, we are researching content and starting a draft for our next post.
That is very similar to water flowing since our thoughts are flowing into the words on our computer screen and becoming valuable to the reader.
Who knows, what we write may be helping a reader decide to write the next post for their website, or make a positive decision in their lives.
And, the next research we do for the next post will hopefully have the same result on a reader as well.
Over time, if we can keep our thoughts flowing and the positive content flowing, we hopefully will have a positive effect on many people with our words.
Words are important, both spoken and written, and over time have the same power as the water that flows through mountains and streams.
It doesn't matter that we may not see the results right away, we need to write knowing that we may help somebody and let the results take care of themselves.
I really didn't put water and it's power and the words we use and their power together until I got to this point in this post, but I guess you could actually say that.
There is enough negativity and cynicism in this world at the moment. Let's work hard to make our words carry positive weight and results in people's live, including our own.
Writing helps the writer as much or more as it helps the reader.
Enjoy your day

Hello Jerry,
A very powerful message you make here, thanks.
Persistence is ultimate that is for sure.
And I know you are right that the power of words written can be just as powerful to the writer as well as the reader.
Kind regards
Erica
Thank you. I'm 57. I have learned over the years that body language, the spoken word, and the written word all communicate something.
For sure, yes I agree 💯,I have observed all these types of communication also, and you are so right.
It all means something!

A fantastic message here Jerry!
It's imperative that we stay persistent in what we do, some days we will accomplish more than others...
That's fine as long as we stay persistent and never give up!
Have a wonderful weekend my friend!
