How can add the home page image like I am seeing on the demo template?

How can add the home page image like I am seeing on the demo template?
Login to Dashboard, go to Appearance->Customize and look there, somewhere you can change your homepage image.
Anyone know of a good theme with a full screen home Page Image Slider or Video Background...?
Do you want free or paid? An online search will bring up someone's reviews of various themes you could consider. This came up for me.

Am I doing something wrong. Themes do not look like demo theme out of the box, are demos just the sites cababilites. Going to need some code to get like the demo I am looking a
They do all that you see in the demos, but you need to go to the widgets area and move the basic building blocks of the theme around until you get it looking how you want it. Some features will be reserved for the premium theme only, but you'll still be able to create something that looks more or less like the site demo that attracted you.

Theme demo not showing home page...just blog posts...?
Many themes have their default settings such that the blog roll is placed on the site's main page.
Under "Apperance" > "Customize" (#1 below), you'll find the option for "Static Front Page" (#2 below). On the new page that opens (#3 below), select the static page option and the pages that you want to use for your site's main page and for your blog roll page.
Sometimes on the theme demos they don't show exactly what things will look like. I've seen theme demos before not load pics where they would go and just show text content, then I activate them and things are more the way I expected.
Don't be afraid to activate a theme and try it out cuz if you don't like it you can always go back to the old one.
