Google search console and Google AdSense - help tips

It was really a challenge for me to set up Google AdSense and Google search console since I had no idea how to do it. Literally now clue.

So, with the help from my mentor I was able to do this, and now I'm gonna give you a hand too, maybe someone needs this.

You can find step by step tutorials on Youtube and they are perfect for someone who really don't know how to do this stuff.

One thing that is important, whenever you need to copy something from Google, when it says you have to paste it to your head or body section, here's where you can find it in your WordPress.

You go to:

Appearance

Theme file editor

On the right side of the screen you find the Theme header and you click on that

Then you paste whatever you need as explained.

That's all, it really isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I am really in no position to help with lots of stuff here, I'm just a beginner in blogging world, but this is something I can do to contribute this community and I am happy to do so :)

It's a bad idea to modify your theme's code as it will be lost when the theme is next updated. If you really want to do it, you have to use a child theme. There are plugins to help with that.

Better, though, is to use a plugin that allows you to insert the code where it needs to go on your pages. Diane has mentioned Ad Inserter and I've included an illustrated approach to two methods in . It's towards the end.

Hi - I already linked to your excellent training, but directly to the appropriate lesson, so perhaps you didn't recognise it as being yours!

No I didn't, Diane. How stupid of me. And even more so that it didn't even occur to me to link directly to the appropriate lesson. You're way ahead (not unusual).

Hi - I wouldn't actually recommend that you do it that way.

If you ever change your theme, or it crashes or it's updated or it's withdrawn by the developer, then you will lose all your data and need to add it again.

Ideally, you should be using the Ad Inserter plugin for any task where you need to add something to the header section.

Although this training talks about Google Analytics, it's the same process. See lesson 5.

Thanks!
