Hi Jeanne
As a new person here in WA I feel having a niche website to start with is a better option as if you pick a subject you really enjoy, it is easy to write about it and help people.
It takes time to build an online business and even though I understand you want to make money as well do, it is really important to do the training and learn all aspects to build a really solid business.
When you go further on with your journey will you become very familiar with Wealthy Affiliate and this is when you could look at marketing WA

Thanks, Vickic3. I had started down the niche path but then I remembered hearing a lot about people starting with the boot camp and wanted to make sure that I had chosen the correct path.

I had the same problem when I started. This is what I did and why.
I knew I was going to use both free websites, so I picked my least favorite of the two and built that niche first.
My reasoning for leaving my favorite niche for the second website has to do with quality.
I knew that my first website would not be as good as my second, because my first is being built during the learning process.
The second website would be built from experience of the ups and downs from the first time through.
Jeanne, I would list topics from each one that you can write about - do some research in google for this. Then look at that list and ask yourself
Which has more topics and potential products I can promote?
Which is more interesting to me?
You will need to write a lot of content and promote lots of products, so pick the one that you love the best. If you love it, you will not start dreading writing your content.
Once you choose your niche, stick with that one website, do not dilute your time and efforts working on more than one site at a time.
I hadn't thought of that. The writing is going to be the hard part and though I want to learn more about home security, I can probably write more about toys. Also if I can get this website up and running before Christmas, the season might give me a boost. Thanks for your advice.
